Ok so iv been having trouble with my thermostat housing leaking. While doing intake gaskets my friend put the wrong bolt in the manifold and stripped the threads in it for the housing. So i put a set of helacoils in both bolt holes and it worked for a bit. Now im leaking coolent again and i tried to re-seal it but still leaking. It doesn't leak a whole lot but it does leak. So would anyone have a drill and tap/die kit to re-thread the bolt holes and be willing to help out getting it done?

I have a drill press and a metric tap and die set.. you would have to come to the airport to get it done, that's where my tools are....

Yeah sadly that's a bit of a drive for me. Ill have to think about it.

I have a drill press (I'm in Lawrenceville -- but not now, I'm at work). You're obviously going to have to use a tap larger than the original size, so go down to Lowes and pick a common size. They sell individual taps, packaged together with the required drill bit size.

I've offered him a lower intake with the t-stat/filler neck included if he decides to not rethread it.

yeah i think ill just go ahead and replace the thing since charlie is getting me a deal on the intake. But, i am going to hang onto the old lower and re-thread it later on unless someone is interested in it?
