The 84 is a beast of it's own and is a little more difficult to upgrade and mod than the later years, but it can be a very dependable piece of transportation if properly restored. You might be better served by just restoring it, then upgrading to a newer year for mods, since the electrical system and other systems are more receptive.
There are several other Fiero enthusiasts in and around Nashville, so you're not stuck out there by yourself. Several PFF members are in your area, but it's always good to broaden your base of contacts.
Glad to have you aboard. Though the Fiero may never replace those two strokers on your website, it can surely claim a respectable position in your heart. Especially when it's cold or rainy.
Welcome aboard.

Nice to see some 84s getting the love they deserve.
I will just leave this link here: http://gafieroclub.org/docs/CowsPatoots_84_Wiring_Harness.jpg
It isn't that 84 wiring is that much worse than later years....it's just different and not documented well.
