Yes. Pan Am had 3 of these, and started flying them in 1931. By the time they were retired, they had flown a combined 10 million miles.

Wingspan: 114′
Gross Weight: 34,000 lbs
Engines: Four Pratt & Whitney Hornet radial engines (initialy 575 hp, later 660 hp)
Range: 900 miles
Max Speed: 137 MPH
Cruise speed: 115 MPH
A Fiero could outrun one of these (and no doubt corner better, too).

I would have flown in it if it only flew over water. At least there was always a landing strip below.
