Title: July cruise-in
Post by: TopNotch on July 01, 2016, 10:23:39 pm
The July Cruise-in will be at the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill, 30491 Hwy 441 S, Commerce, GA. They have agreed to put the following on their markee: GFC CRUISE-IN 7-23-16 12-2 PM
To get there, take I-85 North (actually North-East) to Commerce, take the Hwy 441 exit, turn left, and the DQ will be on the right just after the first light after you cross the bridge over I-85.

DQ seems to be more open to us than Sonic.  Set it up.  I don't have time to handle anything else.

Edgefield, SC Cruise in on the square.  4-7PM.
http://www.exploreedgefield.com/event/cruise-in-1 (http://www.exploreedgefield.com/event/cruise-in-1)

Lots of Corvettes.  Some cool old cars.  Never a Studebaker.

There's a couple of places to eat and a few shops open. Oh, did I mention the moonshine?

Last year there was one Fiero.  The year before there was one Fiero and two owners, the year before there were none...

Tonight Linda and I went to Commerce to check out what was there. We went to two DQ's (one a hole in the wall, and one nice), and a Sonic. The lady at the Sonic seemed the most receptive but at both places, the ladies were just weekend managers and said we'd have to contact their bosses. Both places are just off the highway (easy to find), and if you bring your wives there, the Tanger Outlet mall is right there.
We're back home (with a few items from the Kitchen store at Tanger).

It is with a heavy heart that I must choose family fun over fiero frenzy. I trust that at least one of you will lift a loaded Coney in my honor.

I have to miss the Fiero Frenzy too.  I'll be checking out a house instead.

Don't get caught in any blizzards...

I haven't heard from FieroFrenzy so he probably won't be there either.  Though he's from New Jersey, I think he moved to Acworth to get away from the Blizzards.  😀

Ronnie and Carolyn, good to see you two again.  Thanks for joining us.

For August, Ronnie and Carolyn offered a great suggestion to get a better turnout.  We're going to hire a guitar player and name him/her "Free Beer", and advertise that we will have Free Beer at the cruise in.

If that doesn't work, for September, since most think it's too far to drive anywhere and want the cruise in at their front door, we will all just stay home and have a pizza delivered.

I would have been there if I didn't have to see a house Saturday at 1000. BTW, they canceled on me.   >:(  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

That said, August is a busy month and I might not be available for a Fiero Frenzy.

Hey guys . The old fart is back in town !
We've been real busy the last three months buying / selling and moving to our new place.
so haven't had much time for anything actually and have had alot of company.
We did make the Cruise-In at Madison a couple of months back. Finally got the car to where it was drivable
so decided to make the Cruise at the DQ in commerce Saturday. Good to see Charlie and Pat !
By the way , I think the Free Beer thing was Charlie's idea.:)
My idea would be to show up at some of the local Cruise-In's as a group and get the attention we deserve.
You don't have to have "Show Quality" cars to come hang out at a local Cruise-In. Just Show Up !
You'll get a whule lot more attention at a car show/cruise-in than just hanging out at a Dairy Queen by yourself.
Anyway , was fun hanging out with the guys til the rain came. Hopefully will see everyone soon.
Ronnie

Ronnie, I enjoyed seeing y'all in Madison. I'm sorry we missed this one. (Had to go to the farm.)
We'll see y'all soon.

Free Beer wasn't my idea, so it must have been Pat's.  I'm all for it just as long as long as his real name isn't Bud Weiser.  He really gives me a headache.

So, is there an August thing or we just doing the workshop thingy?
