i changed my plug wires and i'm not sure i got them back right, is there a diagram somewhere that i could look at and make sure they are right? oldone in c'ville

I'll scan and send you a diagram. Number 1 plug is directly over the alternator. Number 1 can be anywhere on the distributor if someone has removed the distributor and didn't put it back in the right position.

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Cylinders 1, 3, and 5 are on the alternator side of the engine and the others are on the other side. The distributor turns clockwise. That should help you route the wires.

guys i hate to sound dumb in a public forum but that info and diagram doesn't help me, i just don't understand motors and how they work. i've never been around them other then to change the oil. but i'll tell you it's no fun when your hobby doesn't run. i'm thinking maybe i should just go back to bass fishing and dump all this fiero stuff. oldone in c'ville

Did bass fishing and the knowledge of how they act and what colors they like and where they hide, come naturally to you or did you have to learn those traits of the fish? I'll bet you had to learn. Same thing about cars. Cept cars are easier because they can't consciously try to deceive you. And you've got a whole bunch of people to help.

Oldone, are you going to be home tomorrow? If so, send me your street address by email...RobsFieros @ comcast . net

I found this laying next to my computer, right after I drew it out. Ignore the perfect circles...

Number 1 spark plug wire should point almost directly at the vacuum port on the upper plenum.

Thanks I'll use that on mine.
