I just got a good running complete 2.8 V6 with 80,000 - 85,000 miles. Intake & valve covers are painted a nice blue. Comes with flywheel/clutch, alternator, AC compressor, full exhaust system, & '86 cradle if you want it. Previous owner took it out to do a V8 swap. I'll take $400 OBO.
Also, got a Pontiac Vibe (toyota) 1.8 liter 4 cyl. - completely rebuilt at a race shop with 8.5 to 1 forged pistons, turbo charged, huge intercooler, mated to a six-speed trans, shifter & cables, new axles, mounted on '86 cradle. Over 4 grand invested, never been started - make offer. (might put this in my custom car).

Given the size of a Fiero's gas tank, I've always thought a high-output 4 would be the way to go... if street cred isn't a concern.
Any ideas what the expected HP/torque and mpg are?

The guy said his goal was 40 mpg. I haven't done the research, but this engine should be capable of 300 HP with the right tune, & be very dependable. That should give you the "street cred" you're looking for... :-)

Not worried about street cred.
Figure my 2.8 has 1.6 rockers, port-matched, and a 7730 ECM. Have 30 MPG hwy and maybe half your 300HP.
