I saw the '86 pilot Fiero at the 35th. This Fiero has power steering, the prototype dash, a special glove box, and a special gear indicator. There are some other unique features, as well. The car is currently still in terrible condition, awaiting restoration.

These are prior pictures.
I found the instrument cluster and HVAC surround to be quite nice, but the glove box just doesn't match.
Clearly, GM was trying to fix this shortcoming.

I do not understand why the speaker grilles are blue in this Fiero.
The left rear tire is still flat, and in fact nothing has changed since these pictures were taken. The car is filthy, rusty, and not yet restored.

Yes, that is the power steering fluid reservoir. Fred has not started this vehicle since purchase.

Something I haven't seen discussed is the gear indicator. The gear indicator on most automatic Fieros fades, but this indicator has a special mark for each position.

Here's the placard that goes with that car. I'm glad you posted the pics, because I somehow lost my picture of the car, but still had the placard.

Dark gray grilles fade to blue. Mine look just like that.
(I tell people I had the car painted to match the speaker grilles. :D )

Teamwork. ;)
I'm glad you got the placard. I didn't get that.

If they sit out in the sun.

It was actually kind of tricky getting it. Because of the glare of lights on the placard (behind glass), I had to take two pictures at different angles, and then combine them using GIMP (a free program like Photo Shop).

Looks good. I'll lighten it up a bit and remove the glare.
The lighting in that room was terrible, as far as judging the cars and getting pictures. The lighting was great for visibility purposes. It looked like fluorescent bulbs, but the colors of things were a bit off, because the lights had a bluish tint. The carpet also made things difficult.

Here's the two pictures I made that one from (none are full size)...

Something like this.

I'll play with it more later.
