Title: Occasional washer fluid spray
Post by: GTRS Fiero on September 02, 2018, 11:57:14 pm
My left washer nozzle occasionally sprays fluid onto my windshield.  This can be when I go over a bump, or just randomly while going down the highway.  This is very annoying.  Most of the fluid stays low on the windshield, but the fluid can run up.

I'm leaning toward a bad nozzle, but could there be a different issue?  If so, what?

There should be a small one-way check valve with a filter in the fluid line, just downstream from the pump.  Usually in the area of the accumulator/dryer for the AC.  It provides a little bit of restriction.  If it's missing, it may lend to the problem, but it seems that the pump would also have some restricting factors.  I know that the washers will squire fluid on some hard turns.  Most who've done RFTH have experienced that phenomenon.

Yes, and I have 2 spare check valves, but shouldn't both nozzles spray, then?

My cars have only had 1 on the main line and only the driver's side seems to squirt.
