Title: Kermit is back again
Post by: Fierofool on September 12, 2018, 10:08:22 pm
Remember Kermit, the Lamborghini Green GT?  I have reliable information that it's on the market.  No engine, but it's had some custom (Amida) work done to it.  Still needs some work.  Waiting on pictures to post.  It's also visible in one of the slides on the home page.  And here:   http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=2544.msg23763#msg23763

Anyone interested in a real deal on the car?

Wasn't that car set up for racing or something?  It doesn't look like it from the pic, but I thought I read something like that, somewhere.

That photo is before he did further mods to run SCCA.  The car now has been retro-fitted to bring it back to daily driver, but it's still equipped to go on the track with lots of suspension upgrades.  I guess you might call it a crossover Fiero.  The last owner was preparing it for a Corvette engine.  The current owner has to move it from where it's stored and cannot store it at his dwelling.  He would like it to go to one of our members who won't convert it to scrap metal.

Last time I saw that car, it was having a curved (Ferrari-type?) windshield installed, and a set of "hips" (whose molds were later sold to Fiero Fiberglass.)
That was at Dean's, when he owned the car.

You're correct.  It has the specially made windshield, Ferrari nose, and hips.

It was in the process of becoming the second

I remember Ben. Hope he's well.
I haven't seen any ads for the car, however.

What year Fiero was Kermit?

He was born in 1986.

With some current photos I might be interested for sure. Price dependent of course.

You may want more than just photos.

I've seen it. You need to check the car in person, to see if it's what you want.
Some unusual pieces...

It was at Northlake, IIRC.  Dunno where it is, now.

Mike is renting space in a storage lot for several of his Fieros, including Kermit.

NoMad...You've seen the car, it was the green one around back of the shop.

Kermit is probably going to donate his body panels and other parts to be put on my 88. It's way more than a project to complete on the current body/frame. There haven't been any takers so far.

Oh, it was that one.... Only interested in parts from that one for sure.

Does anybody know who owns this car? It would be nice to have some more pictures of it.

I don't have the quarter panels for the car and the front bumper is a buck to make a mold, not a finished bumper. I do have fiberglass fenders but they look exactly like the stock parts at least at first glance.

Um, Whodeanie, maybe?  He built it and drove it.

There exist more pictures.

The "Kermit" car was to be the 2nd car of that design. It never came close to being a finished car. The first car is still out there somewhere I assume. Dean no longer has any Fiero's if I understand correctly

I am still really interested in the wheels and possibly the cradles but nothing else there seemed to be in very usable shape for my needs.

The front bumper buck has me curious...

Paul, I don't think the buck is for the front fascia that is on the Grey car in the pics. It is either an unfinished buck or it's just been stored improperly since it is pretty banged up. Usable though with some finishing. I'll get a pic tomorrow and post it up here.

We've never met but I need to make a visit up to you with the buck and several other glass pieces for you to give me an opinion on.

That is mostly the fierofiberglass nose.  Someone added a splitter.

Looks like he modified the lower lip on the large opening some and added the splitter.

The car was sold to someone in Huntsville.  I think Raydar knows who it is.  Ron768 and I met him over there once for lunch, a number of years ago.  At that time, he had mostly disappeared from the forums.  I think that if he had sold it, it would have probably popped up on one of the Fiero sites.

One of the things that's unique about the Kermit car is that it has the extended windshield that gives it a lower profile appearance without chopping the top.

That would mean that either the base went forward, or the top went back.  Probably the latter.

It was actually that the base went forward.  I think that with a combination of an extended windshield and extending the flying buttresses further toward the tail lights, one might get a much more low profile appearance.

Looking at it when it was with Mike the base came out.

Still would like to know who has it now. I really am interested in the wheels.

Which car are you speaking of?  The gray one or Kermit?  Dean built the gray one and was in the process of duplicating it on Kermit.

How does the base move out?  Is the depth of the cowl area decreased?
Title: Re: Kermit is back again
Post by: Fierofool on May 23, 2019, 07:34:04 pm
Yes, the cowl area is modified in some manner.  I think the front deck lid has to be modified, too.
