The "Pear"??? LOL
-
Better?
-
It looked good, right up until I saw that spoiler. Not a fan of that, but I know some people like those.
-
First thing that had to go! :-)
-
Purdy!

First thing that had to go! :-)
Good choice!
-
I just have to ask: where do you find a Fiero in Germany, and do you see other Fieros there?
-
Low and behold....we have a Fiero clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Like RFTH, we have an Alpine Run here annually. In 2018, 28 Fieros participated. 28!
Look here:
http://reloaded.fiero.de/index.php/gallerie2018
The Fieros with Yellow tags are actually from the Netherlands.......large Fiero community there also.
Found the Pearl, just by being diligent. :-)

Ooohhhh alpine run. Normally do that on the boike but would be fun in the car too. Probably not next year but maybe the year after I would be up for that!
-
I'm inpressed. Who would think that there would be that many Fiero's there. Very nice
-
I couldn't do that run for the simple reason that on none of the dinner tables did I see a glass of sweet tea. :(

Or ice anything. Don't those people like warm beer? Or is it just the British?
-
Very cool! Have you met Oliver Scholz?
I see there is even an early Mera. That purple/green paint job is....interesting. I had no idea there were so many Fieros over there, although I had seen pics of groups over there.
-
Just out of curiosity, how did you choose "Pear"?
-
I knew the Fiero has a good filtering in Germany but had no idea they could rustle up that many for a get together! Especially with what looks like horrible weather!
Do you attend this run donster? Would be great to meet up at some point and meet The Pearl in person.
-

I DIDN'T choose "Pear"---------you mis-spelled it........it was "Pearl", as it will be getting a mother of pearl white paint job. :-)
Sorry, sorry.

Have not attended yet, as we didn't have a Fiero until a week ago, but we will be going in 2019.
Meet-up? You're on bro! :-D
\D
-
My hols are booked a year in advance so not sure I will be able to make 2019... Looks like it's normally in the first week of September?
If I can't then 2020? 😀
-
I know that pearl paint doesn't always show up properly in pictures, but post some pictures of "Die Perle" when she's done anyhow.

Goes without saying. But won't be until Feb or March 19

The Pearl is still waiting on a new catalytic converter (should be installed tomorrow, was only point that failed the German government vehicle check, known as "TÜV"). Had to find a universal/generic cat, which wasn't easy here in Germany. Then next TÜV check is on next Wednesday..........the Duchess is a bit sad :-(
Cheers from across the pond,
\D
-
Arghhhh that's a pain. UK must have a cat after 1993 so I managed to get away without one here.
-
Unfortunately, German law dictates, if it originally came with a cat, a cat needs to be in it........total pain
\D
-
They want a cat? I know right where to put it!
-
Passed German inspection yesterday, gets historic tags today.
Not a gig, but was mentioned: Both pedals, the rubber is worn out and need to be replaced. I'll be staring another WTB thread in "The Market". :-)
Cheers,
\D

Well done Donated.

Testing PIP

Opinion survey - which one looks better?

-
They are both cool but don't go taking fashion advice from me.
-
I like the one on the left better.
-
Maybe get some mother-of-pearl, and use that to help make the emblem, like one of these:
-
BTW, be careful when making the emblems. Apparently, even the "OEM-quality" emblems from some places are destroyed by heat and UV light.

Thank you kindly for modifying the logo, but I was actually going for an embroidery logo, so the mother-of-pearl effect was sort of moot, but it has given me some ideas for a nose badge / emblem! :-)
Thnx!
\D
-
Ah. That's why the B&W look on the one. I thought you were looking for the nose emblem.
-
For the headliner, it may be easier to start over. You can make a good board from fiberglass, then either paint it or cover it.
-
The Pearl is at home.....finally! :-)
-
Um, where has it been all this time?
-
At a GM shop....one of the few here in Germany.
-
What happened with the
dog cat?
-
Is the shift boot on yours tan?
-
What happened with the dog cat?
Installed by said GM shop.
Is the shift boot on yours tan?
Tan. Why do you ask?
\D
-
I don't recall my Fiero with the tan interior having a tan shift boot.
I discovered that the tan things that were touched became black over time, so I changed the shift knob and steering wheel from brown to black.
-
Might be an 88 thing?
-
Could be. Mine was an '86.
-
Power trunk release added today. :-)
It even works, despite that it was me that installed it............HA!
\D
-
Progress!
-
Isn't it great, all the things you can create with a 3D Printer?

:-)
\D
-
Did you design and print it yourself, or download the design, or use a service like Shapeways?
-
Neither........just gave an ashtray to a co-worker, he scanned it and then printed it.
Cool, eh?
\D
-
Very neat.
-
Now, remove the ashtray light bulbs so it doesn't melt and wrinkle up.
-
Or use LEDs.
I've been working on changing my ash trays to cell phone holders/chargers. It seems to be a better use of space.
-
LEDs! :-)
\D
-
I can't tell from the pics, but does this Fiero have the Euro-style parking/driving lights?
-

Nope, special permit to keep original, as it is registered as an old-timer.
\D
-
If I register as an old-timer, will that allow me to stay as I am now?
If you should happen on some of those Euro-style housings in good condition, I may be interested.
-
The rule/law in Germany is: The car MUST be overwhelmingly original, as it was when manufactured.
I got gigged on the Formula rims, the inspector knew that they were not original on the Coupe, but thankfully I had the original rims also, and only have my winter tires on the offset Formula rims. They are real stingy about the original state of the car here. You can register mods here in Germany also (expensive), just not as old-timers. The advantage of registering as an old-timer is cheap insurance and much lower car tax. Makes no sense if you ask me.
\D
-
My Fiero would not pass.
-
Somewhere, I thought you posted about a chrome turn stalk, but I can't find that post.
-
Might have been PK.
-
Didn't find his, either. Might have been on PFF.
-

I couldn't find where you needed the trunk light switch, so I'll reply here. I found a latch but no light switch on it. I don't know what happened to it I have a trunk release switch. Do you still need one? What else do you need?
I thought he got it working.
-
Trunk release works......and Charlie probably forgot that he already sent me a trunk release switch.
I was just rying to add a trunk light and thereby found out that the "AJAR" switch on the latch is broken. That's what I need. :-)
