I have been contacted by a person in NC who is attempting to find a buyer for her Formula.
It's white, 5 speed, power windows and locks, ~123K on the odo. Appears to be an A/C car, based upon the interior pics.
It was garaged for a long time, was repaired by her daughter's boyfriend about 4 years ago, driven for a while, and then parked again. It currently won't start.
She sent me some pics. I also asked her to take pics of the trunk sides, since I know that's usually a point of interest. What I can see doesn't look bad.
She's not looking to make a killing. She's just moving and needs to find it a home.
From her email...
I found some notes from four years ago on the Fiero. At that time, we replaced the spark plugs, air filter, ignition wires, and ignition coil. He put on a new distributor, rotor ignition, cap ignition, fuel pump, filter screen and put on tires (I don't know if they were new). He fixed the brakes, put in a battery, coolant temp sensor, new alternator and belt. It was up and running, but then has sat for the last four years.
Her name is Sandra. You can reach her at "histio AT charter-dot-net"
I also have a phone number if you would prefer to call her. Message me if you want it.
If I hadn't already invested so much time and effort into the "ghost", rebuilding the suspension and interior, this would be really interesting to me.

The trunk looks good, and what I can see of the paint around the sunroof looks good.

Thats an '88 correct?
-
All Fiero Formulas were '88's.
Note the engraved plenum, and how the EGR sits.

Yes, sir.
-
With a cleaning and an engine bay detail, it'd be a much nicer Fiero.

According to the latest Newsletter :D, current NADA values are:
Year Model MSRP $ 2018 $ Low Avg High
1988 Formula $10,999 $23,497 $2,000 $4,250 $7,425
So get the car before they clean it up and the condition gets closer to High than Low.

I'm glad you fixed the last part. It makes more sense, now.
-
Note the engraved plenum,
Is this an 88 only thing? Just wondering as my 86 is engraved.

87 and 88 came with the engraved plenum, but many people swap them onto the earlier engines.

Ahh thanks for that, learn summat new here every day! Mine was registered on the very last day of 1986, wonder if it was on from new.

Look at the manufacture date on the door decal. If it was late June, it might have the 87 plenum. I don't think there were any cars built in the month of July since GM usually shuts down during that month to re-tool for the new production year.

...
Unless I'm missing something, the 87 and 88 plenum were identical. Both were engraved. 86 and earlier had the sticker.

Did anyone ever go to look at this car?

I was thinking that if his 86 was at the very end of the production year, and they already had the new plenums in the plant that one might have been mistakenly installed, but you're right, all 86's were supposed to have the Fiero decal on a non-engraved plenum. If that's not the case, someone has swapped the plenum or possibly replaced the engine with a later engine. Casting or block serial numbers might tell the story.

Posted on Pennocks, since there is no interest here.

Where is the VIN on the V6 block?
-
On the bellhousing flange, just above the starter.
