I saw the pic on Fiero Focus. Don and Oliver do not appear to be in the pic, however. I did meet 2 guys (Bernard & Reinhold, I believe) from Germany, last year. They discussed my Fiero for a bit. I was not involved in that conversation, but did get roped into a side conversation, where someone was insisting that they had a British accent. I couldn't resist, "yeah, really common in GERMANY!"
-
Germans tend to pronounce their O's and trailing R's the British way.
-
This was more along the lines of the British people that attended a camp when I was a kid, and some people asking what language was spoken there.
-
Germans are usually taught the Kings English, rather than American English. Hence, the British accent on native German speakers speaking American.
-
Hmmm. My wife learned UK English. Different accent. For those who don't know, English is my wife's third language.
-
Among other languages, I also speak fluent sarcasm and cynicism. ;D
-
Those do not show on any translator.
-
Easy to learn nevertheless........just requires a bit of wit. ;D
-
I knew I was missing something! Now, where did I leave my wit?

Speaking of Fieros in Germany, Anne & I have joined an Oldtimer Club in Heidelberg, Germany.50 members, 120 cars, ranging from pre-WW1 to 1989 models.Up until last week, we were the only members with a Fiero, but after seeing our car, one of the members fell in love with the little car, he drove over to Holland and bought an 87 Gold GT.Not registered yet, as it needs some work still. So now we are not alone anymore. ;D
Yesterday, we went to an Oldtimer-Meet at the Dr. Benz Museum, which is only a few miles from our house, and saw the world's first car. They use a replica of the car (0.8 HP) to give fun rides for ladies, as the owner was Dr. Benz' wife back in the day. Our Fiero was parked among some of the nicest Mercs that are in our club. ;D

Your little Pearl looks good!

Yes, it does. No body sag, even.

Nowadays most of the body sag is reserved for the owners. :P

I do not approve. Not at all. I'd like to go on record as being completely against this.
Put my vote in the "NO" catrgory.

While we don't have an exclusive Fiero Club in our area, Anne & I are members of the Oldtimer Club in Heidelberg, Germany. 50 members, 120 cars, ranging some very old cars up to 1989 models.
This coming weekend, we will be participating (Club booth) at a nice castle / palace garden in a town called Schwetzingen (near Heidelberg), The International Concours d'Elegance - Classic Gala Schwetzingen:

The cool thing is, people, that enter their car in the show, must also dress in the corresponding attire, i.e. if you car is from the 30's, you MUST dress like in the 30's!
I'm sure it will be quite an event. 180 cars are expected to participate. :)
Here are some of the participants.

I am aware that not everybody shares my enthusiasm for classic cars, but how can you love a Fiero and not appreciate OLD cars? ;D
I'll post some of the highlighs / pictures.
-
I dress in corresponding attire every day.

To help you along, here are a few suggestions for you and Anne. You have GOT to post pictures.

My friend's Stanley Steamer wound up in the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, CA. I don't think they require period clothes for that one.

Not everything from the '80's was great.

We actually have a 1918 Stanley Steamer in our club that will also be participating:

As frugal as I am, I probably still have some clothes from the 80s in my closet! ;D
I know for sure I still have my Atlanta Hard Rock Cafe Letterman jacket! LOL
