I am watching A&E's Live PD Body Cam rerun from August 3, 2017 and happened to see an incident in Doraville, Ga. where a former member was speeding and also passed a stopped school bus. When the officers stopped him, he asked for a "Courtesy Stop". Something that's sometimes afforded another police officer. After a bit of conversation, his request was honored and he went on his way.
Later that day it was found that he had been fired from another department 10 years prior and really wasn't a police officer and he was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and with the offense of passing the stopped school bus. $500 fine, 12 months probation and 80 hours of community service.

Unfortunate publicity, but they should have thrown the book at him.
-
It's Possible Charlie is the only one that Caught that. Oddly I remember because of the Arrest on the news But not the incedent or the member part.
-
He wasn't driving a Fiero at the time though he owned a very nice one. Looked like a black Camry. What caught my attention was that it was in Doraville.
-
Was this someone I know?
-
I don't know if you know him personally. They didn't give his name in the segment but you would surely recognize him and know his name if you had seen it.
-
I envy you people with memories for faces. Everyone looks the same, to me.
-
He's put in a refresher appearance since that incident.
-
Ah. Well, my memory lasts from one meal until the next. If I cannot remember what I ate for my last meal, it must be time to eat again.
-
Saw this again tonight. Since it's been aired several times, I thought I'd link it. This is the news report of the incident, not the Live PD broadcast.

There you go.
-
On my small phone screen, I read the video title as:
"Police man arrested for saying he we as an officer".... Which send a bit harsh to me. ;0)
I recognise the name.
-
You recognize the name from having come across this story before?
-
PK, in the US it's against the law to represent yourself as any form of law officer when you are in fact, not.
-
I recognise the name from PFF.
Ya probably the same here FF.
It's just I read:
"Police: man arrested for saying he was an officer" as
"Police man arrested for saying he was an officer"
