Thankfully I'm in town and will be there.

Agenda for discussion....

Of course Run For The Hills: Are we still considering getting vendors to donate products for a raffle? A club member to head this up?

The 1988 Formula 3.8 NA Car.    http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=2494.0

Anyone have anything else to discuss at the meeting? Chip i

We need to decide if we are going to have a club picnic in October.  I need to schedule the Auburn Pavillion if we are.

Yes, I'd like to include the updated picnic info in the newsletter.

Just a thought on the picnic.  If people are actively involved in this, they may be less likely to not show up.  It was suggested to me that club members who support this put some skin in this.  I don't know how that would work.  I'd hate for only 1 or 2 people to show up, and am sure no one wants to be one of those two people, either.  There needs to be a minimum of probably 10-12 people at the picnic for it to be a success.

I'm just putting my opinion out there.  This is not directed at anyone.  Having organized such an event myself, it is very disheartening to have a poor turnout.

Well, today's meeting was a strange one, but a good one. When I drove up to the Galaxy Diner, there was another Fiero in the parking lot, but nothing else. Since I had parts for Fierofool, I decided to wait for him. There was a sign on the Galaxy door stating that they intended to re-open today, but obviously they didn't. A lady came to the parking lot and said that there had been a fire last Tuesday. Anyhow we would up going to a place called Old Hickory House for the meeting and lunch. I'll let others chime in with more details.

The fire thing seems to have occurred a year or so ago.  The Galaxy needs to keep the fire far, far away.

It would have been nice if Maria had let one of the officers know.

I am curious whose Fiero that was.

Eventually there were 8 of us at the meeting. I'm trying to remember who was there first, besides me. It'll come to me eventually. I'm old, you know.

That's my excuse, too.

DeShoe, Budgetman72, MikeMac, ScottB, TopNotch, Fierofool, Raydar, Roger.  Others may have shown up after we relocated to The Old Hickory House BBQ Restaurant.

RFTH 24 route and hotel was discussed and all is finalized for the event.

Pat brought us up to date on the 3800 Formula.  New PCM installed, but wasn't the solution.  He had some theories to test when he got back home.  I see his posting that says he was on the right track.

The Annual Georgia Fiero Club Picnic will be on October 13, the same day as our regular meeting would be scheduled.  It will probably be held in the R.H. Burel Park Pavillion in Downtown Auburn.  Great place to put the cars on display.  The same place where we used to hold our car shows when Georgia Fieros started the Auburn car shows at Independence Day and AuburnFest events.

I'll get some pictures of the area and post in a new thread for the picnic.

That was a joke about fireworks inside the Diner.

The Lady that came up telling us about a fire I think was mistaken. There was a fire there in 2017 about the same time of year as this. I think she read that on the web and went with it. I may be wrong but I didn't see any evidence of even light smoke looking through the windows. It's possible it was a grille fire and contained by the suppression hood. I'm thinking maybe a death in the family or something serious. We will see I guess.

I agree with wishing someone had let us know they were closed.

Does Maria have a contact for any of the officers?  From what she said a few months ago, it seems that she opens and closes the restaurant.

I think she has Fierofool's number.

He'd probably be the most reachable, anyway.

She does have my number.  Many think we're headquartered there.  They give them my number.  Its on their board near the register.

She probably had more pressing things on her mind.

I looked online for any report of a fire in 2019, but saw nothing.

I looked online for any report of a fire in 2019, but saw nothing.

Several of us did the same, with similar results.

Not that you want to advertise that the galaxy went up in flames.
