Title: Integrated fuel door

I've been thinking about this for a while.  I know some people have modified their fuel door assembly to be part of the rear clip, but I'm worried that doing so would make  it difficult to remove the rear clip, and could facilitate cracks.

Tha Driver has been really lame about responding to threads (& emails) lately. He's really busy & I think might have mental problems.  ;D
Actually, I have a mold to make the fiberglass insert to mold into the 1/4 panel to eliminate the plastic insert & ring around the gas door. I use it on aftermarket fiberglass panels, though. I think eliminating the ring really cleans up the area for a much better & more "factory" look.

Would it work on a stock setup?  Any issues with longevity?

Probably work OK if you 'glassed it in with SMC resin & mat.
Geeze that didn't take long to answer - only three months to get around to it.  :-[

Would that affect the ability to remove the rear clip if it were installed?  I have seen some that have used what appears to be a Mitsubishi Eclipse metal filler door and flange.  Is that permanently attached or is it just an access to the cap underneath?

Willing to wait another three months for an answer?  ;D
Once you take the screws out that hold the fuel filler tube to the body, it's flexible enough to push it back a little & wiggle the rear clip past it.
With a filler door like you describe it would work like the original, with a cap underneath. I think the round door looks better than most other cars.
