Post your pictures from RFTH24 here.
I'll start. These are from Friday evening...

-
Justin's Fiero looks pretty good for being wrecked. Or maybe that isn't him.
-
Justin's is the 85GT, 3rd picture down, 2nd car from the top of the photo.
-
Yeah. Looks good from this side.

Thanks for the pics. Very nice. Good to see yout GT out with the crowd. It looks as if there were a fair number of participants.
Whose gold GT is that, with the 4.9?
-
Battery trouble for Scott, or for Fierofool?
-
It was a great time. I have more pics on my camera but I haven't downloaded them yet. These a are a few from my phone.

These are pgackerman's pics from the link above, but will show here, in case google decides to go photobucket on us. This isn't all the pics, but many of them.

Charlie's alternator quit putting out voltage early Saturday so he would run until the battery voltage went down, he and I would swap batteries. After jump starting my car I would charge his battery back up while he would tun off of mine. Then we would do it again. Anyone know what the going rate is for charging bayteries?
-
Believe he has to plan another weekend trip for you within the next year.
-
My apologies to GTRS, but I just uploaded pictures from Toni's camera to the same album.
-
It was pretty cool that the guy in the white 911 Turbo gave us a thumbs up when we passed by him on BRP. When I say "passed", I mean he was headed in the other direction.

Yeah. Help with disassembling a Fiero.

That wouldn't begin to pay for all he's done for me.

It's awesome to have a club of people so willing to help each other.

I did not put "alternator" or "car battery" in the list for RFTH.
Many years ago, I was in the hospital in Memphis, TN. When I was released, the car I had to drive home in was a Ford Pinto. Maybe a '78. Of course, the alternator would not charge the battery, as I found out, about an hour later. It was sortof rainy outside, and this was on a Sunday. I limped the Pinto to a parts store. They verified the bad alternator, but no one had an alternator in stock. There was no help but to drive on. So, I had them charge the battery fully, left the lights off, and only used the wipers when I had to. Several hours later, I limped the Pinto home.

To make a very short story of what was a very long weekend for me............Alternator Unplugged.
-
The problem was that the alternator was unplugged?
-
Here are pictures of Jack Cooke's beautiful 4.9-powered show car. The pictures DO NOT do it justice.

While looking at a cord that was unplugged a wise man once told me " Son, them electrons aint gonna jump that far." Wise words indeed

Another switcheroo?

-
Yep, that was the purpose of that particular stop

Does it smell like food?

Hey! That's not what those grilles are for!
Well, the deep fry oil may be special.

Ok. Posted, although there may be a few duplicates. I cherry-picked the pics I posted.

My excuse for not finding that is poor vision. I'm glad it was an inexpensive and easy fix.

Wait... What?! :o
It's obviously a curse from the CORVETTE GODS as payback for the C8 sticker you have on the back window.

Enjoying the pics, thanks for sharing.

I'm wondering how it came unplugged.

-
It's one of the great things about GFC.
-
I'm wondering how it came unplugged.
I'm wondering, too. It was OK when I parked Friday night. At least I think it was. I didn't notice it until a few miles into the run. Could have just been coincidence.
-
How many miles did we drive on Saturday?
-
Based upon the scouting and documentation runs, it was about 215 miles hotel to hotel.
-
So, only 1 fuel stop on the run?
-
Yes, just 1 but it was at about 70 miles into the run. My concerns were for the 4.9 and 3800SC cars, but there were other stops available, just not planned stops. Should anyone have felt they couldn't make the full trip, they could have stopped.
I try to plan as few stops as possible because it sometimes takes time to get everyone back together and on the move. The larger the group, the more difficulty.
-
Yes, gasing up a large group takes time. Years ago, we drove a few hundred moles as a caravan. There were over 100 vehicles in the caravan. We divided them into groups, with a leader in each group. We made at least 2 fuel stops, each way. As I recall, we were required to report topped off, and the stops divided people across several gas stations. The even-numbered groups used stations on the right side of the street, and the odd-numbered groups used stations on the left side of the street.
-
I thought we fueled up twice. Once at the convenience store that was packed with cars and the second time with only two pumps with access due to the dude on the rolling platform painting the overhang.
-
The 3800SC Fieros usually get about 22MPG. The 4.9 can get that, as well. Maybe not for either, if they put their foot into it a lot.
-

You're correct. We did. I forgot about the Shell station in Burnsville.
-
Were the stops closer than 150 miles, then?
-
All except the gas stop on the way home
-
I'll bite. How far was that stop?
-
165 miles if I remember correctly
-
Or long enough for Charlie to run down a battery
-
Ah. Otherwise, your Fiero should do better than 200 miles on a tank.
-
Out of curiosity, how do you tell when the battery has run down? Volts below 9?
-
Since my alternator wasn't charging, the voltmeter was reading voltage in the battery. When it got down to around 6 volts we would change it.
We kept communicating on the radio as to everyone's fuel level and my battery level. I knew I could make 150 miles on fuel and the GPS was telling me it was a little over 160 to my house. The last stop for me, Roger and Scott was about 164 or thereabouts on my odometer. The battery still had enough power that Scott's car had no trouble starting with the partially discharged battery.
We had filled up at the station beside the hotel. When we filled up at the last stop, I only needed 4.1 gallons and I packed it to get 4 gallons. I'm still doubting it, but the MPG calculations said I got 40 MPG and at times we were running over 85 MPH.
-
85? Downhill, with a tail wind?
Where was the 85MPH calculation done?
-
The calculation was done from the drivers seat of my 87GT by looking at the GPS display and speedometer as we were headed south on I-85 in SC. :)
-
Well, 164 miles, divided by 4 gallons is 40 MPG.
You have a 5-speed. My 4-speed gets great highway MPG.
-
I'm amazed that CowsPatoot hasn't posted pics.
-
He has tons of them on his facebook page. When I have time I will pull them to my files for archiving the event. Sharon was the photographer and as always, she gets some amazing shots.

You can see Greg's (CowsPatoot) pictures here (https://www.facebook.com/cowspatoot/media_set?set=a.1456817097808014&type=3).

Well, it just shows a login page.
-
Cow S Patoot might get you there on FB.
-
No idea how I would use that. I did a search, but don't have a facebook logon.
-
I'm lazy, and don't feel like feeding a gazillion pics into PIP....so, you can get the full stack of them here: http://fieroinfo.com/RFTH24/
Raw and un-edited....feel free to use them for anything you want to use them for. I am still working on the video. I have two really nice sections with multiple camera angles that are already synced up.
