This is our annual fund raiser for needy families is Oakwood GA, would love a good Fiero Club turnout in support of this event. Also if we have enough cars i may be able to reserve a Fiero section and maybe out do those over achievers Corvette Club! Lol!
-
I couldn’t get it in the calendar.
-
Anyone interested in going as a club group?
-
Would love to have members and none members to attend as a group! Please let me know those who wish to participate!
-
The picnic is over, so on to the next event. Next weekend, already.
-
So far looks like we’ll have about 6 cars at the show! Let me know who else wants to attend and I’ll get a group section.
-
6 Fieros?
-
All my old contact information for Mike Byrd is invalid. Sent Ronnie Fulcher an email to have Mike contact me. Maybe he can bring his Gt, or is he one of the 6 that's already committed?
-
Yes I was counting him as he said he would come, but if you could get a contact for him that would be great.
-
Not in club contacts? He obviously reads the site.
-
I spoke with Mike today and he plans to be there.
We have
Mike M
Jason
Pat
Charlie
Scott
Mike B
Who else? Let's try for the club participation award.
-
It's awesome that we're getting this participation!
-
However, I may have to work Saturday, I wont know until it gets closer
-
Heavy rain forecast for tomorrow, so I've got to get out there Thursday and get mine cleaned up a little.
-
Jordan will be there as well, looking forward to the event!
-
Change me to a "Maybe". If I can't get the stalling issue sorted on Wednesday I will have to pass. It doesn't present a good image of Fiero's if one is stalled and holding up traffic! Runs great out on the interstate though. I would drive it to Florida as long as I never had to go on surface streets. I had a guy road rage on me while driving to the picnic Saturday because I wasn't getting out of his way fast enough. A Mercedes with a tag that said "BOOKD". I saw his tag as he passed me on the left using the turn lane and then cutting back over aggressively. Bail bondsman or something I guess.
-
There appears to be a storm coming, but I'm not sure where it will hit.
-
Car show will be postponed until November 2nd due to weather 90% chance of rain this Saturday.
-
Did it rain Saturday?
-
ALL. DAY. LONG
-
They said it would pour, here. Not so much. It was cool, but not a drop in the morning. What it did while I slept, I dunno, but there was no evidence of rain in the afternoon. It did rain on Sunday, but just a drizzle.
-
ALL. DAY. LONG
AND HEAVY, TOO!
-
Let's hope the rain date is rain free.
-
And........ I wont be able to make it, traveling for work next week
-
I'm counting 5 people. That isn't likely to win the participation award, but it's a start.
Darn, Scott, maybe you could just bring your Fieros?
-
MikeMac told me today he will be celebrating his wife's birthday and won't be able to make it. I think Mike Byrd said he would still make it.
Pat, will you be going? Can you loan someone your other car?
-
Mine wont fit in the overhead compartment
-
Pat, will you be going? Can you loan someone your other car?
Someone can borrow one. They both need work, so if anyone wants to both borrow and work, that would be fine.
The yellow one makes a noise like a wheel bearing is going bad -- you can hear it if you drive with the radio off.
The silver one needs the AC compressor replaced, and the EGR tube replaced. The EGR may be done by the time of the show. I already have the compressor and other AC parts.
-
AC and EGR aren't required to enter but a wheel bearing may be required to get there. :)
-
Do you lift the each side of the Fiero and spin each wheel to test, or how do you check for a bad wheel bearing?
-
I hadn't driven the car for over a week, and drove it to work today. I heard the noise on the way to work, but didn't hear it on the way home. Can a bearing get noisy from sitting for a while?
-
Rotors can. I don't know about bearings.
-
Is this a front or rear bearing?
-
You might move this on the calendar to the new date.
-
Is this a front or rear bearing?
Good question. I can't tell for sure, but I think it's rear. I bought one just in case, and I have a couple of good used 88 front hubs.
-
I thought I had a noisy rear CV and when I was replacing it, I noticed grease coming from the bearing. Replaced it, but that wasn't the problem. Yet, that is. It would most likely have failed at the most inopportune time, aka Cowspatoot on the Diamondback.
I had a front bearing on the 87 that was making noise but it was more pronounced when turning in a certain direction. I know the 88's are a bit different than the 87 but they still have a spindle, don't they? If they do, you can put a mechanic's stethoscope against the spindle and spin the wheel. The spindle doesn't move so you can hear any bearing noise.
-
The '88 has these:

Well folks it looks like the weather is going to be fantastic for car show! Mid 60's! I look forward to seeing everyone for some great food fun and fellowship for a great cause! Still looks like we will still have 5-7 Fieros and hope for more from those that follow the forums.
-
I plan on getting there early around 8:30am to find a spot for the Fiero invasion to park tomorrow! Look forward to seeing everyone there!
-
It's good to see that club members are planning to attend. This sort of thing has the potential to put the club on people's radar.
-
Have fun!
Don't forget to take pictures.
-
Saw the photo of this pop up on a facebook site today and people seemed happy to see it.
-
Sorry I missed it, just got back from Fayetteville AR anout an hour ago
-
If we'd had 1 more we would have tied for the club participation award.
-
That's HUGE! LOL!
-
Pictures....

Believe it or not, this is not a Fiero re-body!

Not a re-body either!

This Volkswagen Thing won best import.

This Cushman trike won best motorcycle!

-
Nice pics.
That red Ferarti looks too much like a Tiburon to suit me.
-
It looks as if TopNotch took his silver Fiero.
-
Almost forgot the pink truck!

-
I see that the owner is a minimalist, going for a little bit of everything.
Was the owner female?
-
I counted 6 fieros. Did Mike B. enter? I don't know to whom the blue Fiero belongs.
-
Mike B. didn't come. The blue 87 belongs to Carlo. You may remember in the club email that he was trying to find us on the day of the stripping party. He and Pat couldn't find the shop. On that day, he drove over 100 miles one-way to join us only to not be able to make contact. As it is, he drives close to 100 miles to work, as he works next door in Gainesville. Oakwood and Gainesville share city limits on one side.
-
Well, it's good he was able to attend.
