The White Elephant, Crazy Santa, Christmas Party is returning. These are the rules.
Gift value limit to about $25 but you may give a gift of greater value if you choose. Gag gifts are also welcome. This makes the occasion more fun.
Wrap your gift but do not put any names on the gift. All gifts will be placed together on one of the dining tables.
Numbers will be written on tabs of paper or we will have tickets, beginning with #1, with there being sequentiual numbers for each gift. The numbers will be put into a container of some kind.
The participants who brought gifts will draw a number from a hat or container.
When all numbers are drawn, the person holding #1 shall select a gift.
After opening the gift, the person holding #2 may select an unwrapped gift or exchange their number for the gift of #1. If this is done, #1 gets to select another gift but cannot take back the gift that has just been taken from him.
As the numbers progress, each person in numerical order, may select an unwrapped gift or swap their number for any gift that has been unwrapped.
When all gifts have been unwrapped, the person who originally had #1 may either keep the gift they have, or swap it for the gift of any other person since there was no gift before them that they might take. They can even take back their original gift if it's in the hands of someone other than who took it from them.
No person may lose their gift more than 2 times. If someone swaps gifts with you, then a second person swaps their gift with you, that gift is the one you can keep. It can't be taken from you. After the drawing is finished, you are free to swap gifts among one another, though.
Also, we collect a new unwrapped toy for Toys For Tots at the party if you would like to donate.

Don't forget to link this to the calendar.
-
Thanks.
How many people plan to attend?
-
Yes, it would be good to know how many are attending so we can let Maria know so she can be prepared for us.
Count me in.
-
I will be there, plus 1
-
Anyone else planning to attend, or is it just Scott, Leigh-Anne, and me? I need to let Maria know.
-
The weather that day is forecast to be rainy, so this is probably an ideal place to find some cheer.
-
I'll be there...…...
-
I'm coming.
-
Pat, bring the debit card to pay for appetizers. She doesn't take checks.
-
I wont be able to make........Here is hoping that you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR.......See you at the January meeting
-
Bob, join us for the Polar Bear Run on the 28th.
-
Well, I seriously looked at attending. I could have made it, although I would have had to work overnight, both nights.
My economics are a bit different, given the distance. I added up the costs:
$6xx - vehicle operation cost (driving the 1/2-ton truck for 20 hours)
$240 - hotel for 2 nights
$90 - meals (Saturday noon, Saturday night, Sunday noon)
-------
$960 - approximate total cost
Unfortunately, my kids have activities, this weekend, so have to stay here. Without the wife & kids, costs would be less, by about $60. I had to ask myself if it was worth $900. $900 of fun, without the kids? I couldn't justify it.
The Fiero costs less to drive, but it's supposed to rain, this weekend.
-
It's supposed to be raining down this way, too. I believe there's a possibility of some sleet, snow, or wintry mix running in a band from lower Mississippi all the way up through Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, too. You'd have to pass through that. Save the travel time and money for this year's RFTH.
-
We'll see. I have not committed to any Fiero stuff, this year.
-
Annnnnnnd Leigh-Ann will not be joining this year. So far the guest list is Charlie, Mike, Pat, and myself. Anyone else?
-
Don't forget to take pictures, please.
-
Oddly, during what I thought was the meeting time, I saw people whom I expected to be at the meeting on the forum.
-

I didn't get a picture, but we had a surprise visit by GTB 308 and his wife 71Malibu.
-
New (to me) face on the left.
Glad there was a decently-sized group.
-
When Mike hadn't shown up, I called to see if he was having problems and he wasn't sounding good at all. He's had a relapse of the flu and is in bed again. Would have been 8 with him.
-
Well, apparently no one was squeezed. It looked like one person on each side of each table.
-
I happened upon this.

I didn't attend the party, so I'll share this that I did do.
