I'm shopping for a 93-95 Camaro or Firebird 3.4 V6 engine. Must be a running engine and prefer to be able to hear it run. What do you have or what do you know of? Greater Southeastern area is acceptable.
I would even consider a good running 2.8.
-
Looking for you or helping out?
-
Put me in that line also please
-
Line? The looking for a 3.4 line?
-
Yep, engine included
-
For your orange Fiero?
-
Yep, 150000 makes for a tired 2.8
-
You liked that 3.4 in the fastback Fotmula, huh?
Well, 2 engines needed.

I found a complete car for $1200 but I'm not interested in putting that much into it just for an engine. It would probably be hard getting rid of the body without an engine. It was on ebay motors but I used so many different search keywords that I don't remember how I found it. It was just one of hundreds of returns I got from Camaro or Firebird or Pontiac. Lots of Fieros, but most of them were pipe dream high dollar prices for stock vehicles.
I just got word of a 2.8 that's supposed to be a good dropout for an engine upgrade. Waiting to hear from the guy.

Not sure if you're still looking but the pull and pay in Cincinnati has a 94 Camaro with a 3.4 in it. I think they only asked two hundred bucks for the engines.
-
If you go to car-part.com and do a search, based upon a "94 Chevy Camaro / Engine / Distance from (your zip code)" and choose "6-207 VIN S" it will come up with pages and pages. It will find Camaros and Firebirds of all 3 years. I saw published prices from $250 to $500. Most just said "Call".
Might be a challenge to hear it run, however.

I have an 80k 2.8 but Scott may still be looking for a 3.4.
-
Do they let you hear the engine run?
-
Tha Driver has it. It was a takeout for a 4.9 install. Paul gave me the contact info for the original owner and I spoke with him. He said the engine was good, didn't smoke and held good oil pressure. He only removed it to install the V8. Nothing wrong with the engine.
I'll go through the process of being sure everythings free before putting it in. I have to change out the valve covers and intake with the one off my 87 engine. The other has been painted to a color that would better match the one we got from HarryT.
-
What do you have on your '87?
-
The engine in the 86 is from an 87GT. I refinished the intake and valve covers to factory red before it was installed. I probably will also swap out the fuel rail and injectors at the same time because I know my injectors and regulator are good. All the sensors will get swapped, too.
-
Ah. Nothing from your red '87.
-
I believe they allow you to bring it a jump pack but you may want to confirm that with them . All the gas tanks have been emptied and all the lines have been cut so you may have to just check compression and maybe use some starting fluid to see if it will run.
-
Pullpart and Pickapart down here will allow a jumper pack. It's a good way of testing headlight motors, radios, fan motors, etc.
The engine I got from Paul has been out of the car and under cover for about 4 years. It has everything on it but it couldn't be started as it sits.
