You know, you'll have to pull the duckwork to get the harness all the way out.

You know it'll all be worth it when you get it back together and you know it's right. I'm going to assume you want the left rear marker light from looking at the pictures. I think I might have found a coffee shop in Cartersville that we'll meet at around noonish.

hey i just got my computor back, the cracker barrel is at exit 290( route 20 and 75). about two hours ago i took the fiero to get my computor and i only got three miles and i lost all power. i coasted to the side of the road and it was dead. it would turn over but it would not fire. the fuel pump was'nt coming on and it just was'nt firing. fuses were ok, i swapped relays and nothing. the throttle cable was disconnected from its pin, it looks like it should have some kind of c-clip or ring holding it on the pin. also it seems like a lot of slack in the throttle cable. i reattached the cable and still nothing. this was the first time i have driven it since i got it back from don satruday evening. it seemed to run ok from douglasville, other than my back up lights coming on when i shift to 2nd gear. thats whwat my wife said, she was following me home from dons. could it be the linkage is out of adjustment and not recognizing thast the clutch is down the floor? thoroughly disgussed. had to have it towed home.         older one in c'ville

The reason you can see the forward roof panel is it cracked in about 5 places trying to get it unglued and it is easier to re-fiberglas sitting on the car than it is flopping around in my office.. :-[

I don't.  I think they're pulling our legs.  They're emailing the pics to one another then when they discuss them, they talk like they can see them here.

Has anyone run across the rocker's hitting the top of the valve covers on the 2.8????  I got mine apart and every rocker arm was hitting the top of the valve covers.. you can see the nice clean wear marks....

I can't say that I've ever seen that. Are you useing the thick rubber valve cover gaskets?
Title: Re: 85GT Fiero
Post by: RobsFieros on November 18, 2009, 08:48:46 am
And the bolts should have shoulders on them about half their length.
Title: Re: 85GT Fiero
Post by: 85GT on November 18, 2009, 08:52:23 am
yes thick rubber gaskets and the right shoulder bolts.. Iam wondering if its the cam & lifters i installed ?????

Rick installed a .458 lift cam in his and used 1.6 roller rockers and we just knew they would hit the valve covers, but they didn't. I don't know what would cause it.

You don't think it could be where the oil is washing the valve cover when it squirts oil out of the rocker arm hole? Or does it look scracthed or scored?
Title: Re: 85GT Fiero
Post by: 85GT on November 18, 2009, 09:01:14 am
Thats what I have, same CAM & Roller rockers.. I always heard this ticking noise since they were installed 33,000 miles ago & I kept saying it sounded like the rockers hitting the valve & every one else they cant... I don't know
Title: Re: 85GT Fiero
Post by: 85GT on November 18, 2009, 09:04:13 am
no... It's wear marks.. 2 marks the same width as the rocker arms all the way down both valve covers.. The first thing i thought of was the oil hitting there
Title: Re: 85GT Fiero
Post by: RobsFieros on November 18, 2009, 09:04:30 am
hmm....I don't know. You might have to make a plate to space the valve cover up. Maybe take an old valve cover and use it as a template... ???
