Title: 88 GT - some assembly required
Post by: pgackerman on May 17, 2020, 07:29:17 pm

Maybe this shouldn't go in "The Market" cuz there's a guy who lives near me that is willing to spend MONEY to have someone install an almost new LS4 and new-in-box F40 six-speed transmission in his 88 Fiero GT.  Here are some photos:

Anyone interested?

Added a few more photos.

No comments on an LS4 and 6-spd manual?

Have 1 to replace engine in (not mine), have 4.9 Formula to replace clutch, have an 85GT parts car to strip, and have an 86SE to R&R drivetrain..... I might be a tad bit busy over the next year

It is awesome that someone in the area is attempting/doing this swap.  Not many V8 swaps in the GFC area, it seems.

His first choice would be to get it up and running, although he now realizes he does not have the skill to do the job himself.  He'll pay to have someone do the work if anyone is interested.

His second choice is to sell everything together.

Don't think there's a third choice.

There are several people who could.  One already declined.  Most of the others of whom I know are out of state.

NoMad and mweldon are both in the middle of their own swaps.  Mike_21 is doing his own restoration.

Maybe try the Fiero Factory.

Todd Wiekel over at The Fiero Farm in Summerville, SC is very capable of handling that job.

Yes, if you can get him to do it.

It occurs to me that, if he attended some tech sessions, helping out a bit, his skills would improve.
