I recently had to replace my entire steering column on my auto trans GT, and when removing the cable that connects from the shifter to the steering column, the clip that keeps it secured in the slot broke off. I have a spare cable but can't find the same kind of cable anywhere to figure out how exactly to go about replacing it. I know it runs from the steering column, behind the console, and then to the shifter. Is there any good way to go about replacing this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can bypass that cable but be advised you will be able to shift it into gear without the key in the ignition.

I've never owned an automatic, but it might be easy to see where things go if the full center console and the dash were removed. I know its extra work, but sometimes that can save a lot of unrepeatable words and beer for something more deserving.

I did this, but when removing the power window/mirror switchboard, what I believe is the window sending unit for the passenger side fell out along with two prongs. It's a bit gunked up but is it salvageable? Picture attached...

When they come apart, usually they can't be made to work again because the little springs inside sprout wings and go south. You can get a replacement switch from The Fiero Store. Some have said that the rocker switch is a little thin, but you can actually carefully remove the rocker from your old switch and transfer it to the new switch.

The stock window switches are thin. TFS switches are good, or a set from a Camarobird can be used.
