next Caffeine & Octane is Sunday the 6th (Labor Day weekend)..... I say we need to get 3 or 4of us to go hang out for a bit. Who's in? If all goes well I will take the v8 car. Remember there is no entry fees, no judging, just a LOT of car guys hanging out. It will be good exposure for the club and we might wind up on NBCSports.
I do find it ironic that I didn't see much coffee there
-
I like it!
-
I understood from our discussion at the meeting that The Art Doctor, ScottB, TopNotch, Fierofool, and Headhunter will be meeting up. Art Doctor is going to arrive early and block out some spaces so we can be together, but we must all be there by 7:30AM.
We need to know who's coming so we can block off the spaces. Bring a folding chair along. The gathering ends around 11.
The show is at Perimeter Mall, bordered by Ashford Dunwoody, Hammond Drive, Perimeter Center Parkway and Perimeter Center West, in Sandy Springs.
Ashford Dunwoody Road off I-285, and go North outside the perimeter.
-
The original location at The Avenues had an au bon pan and that's where the caffeine part came from. Now you might see a coffee food truck or if you get there early dunkin sponsors the Porsche area and has a tent with free coffee and donuts.
-
Who sponsors the Fiero area?
-
It's just a freelance gathering. No entry fee for car or spectator. No judging. No awards.
Cars park at random though as we are doing, some group together if they can block spaces. Larry said all cones blocking spaces must be removed by 7:30.
-
There are lots of sponsors all over. Each business tent and vendor pays to be there. It's how they pay the fees charged by the mall and required security. Yes, they must get money for the show. If you have a product or service you think the car folk would buy you can set up, for a fee to the show, not the club. As far as I know, nobody is getting appearance money. Porsche has headquarters here thus sponsors the area as advertising. Repair shops, custom wheels, custom paint, insurance ect all set up booths and pay to do it. Food vendors are few, but pay to be there too. The show has its own trailer full of swag. It's a huge operation. Free to show car and spectate brings huge crowds. At pre corona peak 4000 cars 10000 spectators.
-
I did't realize it had changed that much since they were on Mansell Road.
BTW, Larry, if you read this today, I will not be able to meet you at Pleasant Hill Road. I am down for the count. Yesterday was too much.
-
Charlie, understood. I spent the morning with pat and my buddy transfering the Silver Bullet (my wife said no Coors stickers but thought that name was funny). We got lots of time before next months show.

For the present I am back on my feet. How many do we think we can get together for the September show? It would be great to have the whole club show up in force. Maybe those who have multiple cars could let another club member drive the extra. Just offhand I can imagine about 12 Fieros showing up.
Larry, if you're home tomorrow, I am going to try to drive down to Pat's. While I'm down that way I can bring a TPS and the cones and banner for Caffeine and Octane in the event I can't make C&O.
-
I'm planning to go.
-
Yes I'm back. I have a customer in the morning but am free the rest of the day.
-
They just posted to their Facebook page that they are doing a special Pontiac area in the main lot. It's by submission and selection only. Uou can find the link on Facebook or there regular web site. Must be in by 715am and stay till 11am. Some of you with nicer cars who are not in a hurry to leave may wish to apply. I still intend to get there early and block us off an area in the club lot.
-

For anyone coming in, Exit I-285 at Ashford Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs. Go north, outside the perimeter on Ashford Dunwoody and turn left onto Perimeter Center West. Go to the 1st traffic light and turn left into the back of the Perimeter Mall. You should be able to follow the cars to the parking lot. Larry said he would have our spaces in the Club section. You gotta get there early.
-
Formula still running like dog doodoo so I have the 86..... parents are moving so I have spent the last 2 days packing their house and have not had time to wash it.... oh well..... what time in the morning?
-
I intend to get there around 6 a.m. . I am bringing my red 10 x 10 pop-up should make it easier for people to find us. I'm going to try and save 7 car spaces and 1 space for chairs. All saved spaces have to be taken by 7:30 or they must be opened up to other people. See everybody there tomorrow.
-
Count us in! We’ll have the 85” & 86” there.
-
Excellent. This event seems to be taking off.
-
Oh. Take PICTURES!
-
Planning to be there.

A very good turnout for Fieros. 8 cars in the lineup. Some interested folks stopped to chat, praise and discuss the cars. Maybe picked up a couple of new members in a Father/Son group with an 85GT that belonged to the wife.
I saw lots of folks coming by and stopping to take pictures of the various cars, especially Jason's Transformer nose badge. Anyone who took pictures and doesn't have the PIP app, send them to the club email and one of us will post them for you.
On the way back Pat and I ran along together from around Chamblee-Dunwoody until he exited I-85 at Steve Reynolds. As I continued on via Hwy 316, I heard a car horn blow to the left side of me. I had my windows down and looked over. Two guys in a Volvo very enthusiastically giving thumbs up and I could hear them yelling "Nice". Further made my day. As Pat and I ran along together, I noticed a couple of different cars that appeared to jockey through traffic as if to get a better look at the cars.
-
Just got home. First time I've ever been to a Caffeine & Octane. There were eight Fieros in our group, plus one or two other Fieros elsewhere in the gathering.
I would venture to guess that just about every brand you could imagine was represented there (although I didn't seen any Rolls or Bentleys.) I even saw (I think) an Ariel Atom.
It was good to see everyone again. Been a while, with the prevailing conditions and all.
Edit - because I can't count. :D
-
Hopefully, prevailing storms will blow the prevailing conditions away.

Yes there was both a Rolls and a Bentley present over in the roped off area...... most unusual cars I saw were a Morris (looked like a Cooper Mini or an Austin Healy) and a LaSalle that was done up very nicely

Pictures Scott put on Facebook..

What -- No flux capacitor?
-
Should we make this a monthly event?

Hey everyone, let's get our new Facebook page off to a good start. If you have a Facebook account, would you transfer your pictures of C&C over to The Georgia Fiero Club on Facebook?
-
To add pictures to the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/The-Georgia-Fiero-Club-113651427028820), or view those already posted, click on the arrow beside "More", then on "Community".
-
Added a few to the FB using the wifes account.
-
Can these pictures be posted direct to the facebook page timeline? I didn't find a "More" tab but did find the "Community" tab at the left of the page.

Is there any way I can get the password to that page?

Check the club email.
