I recommend the Diner next month as my Honey Do list has gotten quite long so I may not be able to make it.

Probably so.  Arrive early in case we have to wait for seating.

I'll have to know who's coming so I can let them know early Saturday morning.

Board of Directors election needs to be on the agenda for October.  New directors election should happen at the November meeting then officers election in December.

I will probably not be there this weekend.

I will go on record to say that I can be a board member again next year,  but I cannot take an officer position

Speak up before 11AM Saturday morning if you will attend the meeting.  I need to call them to let them know how many.

I will volunteer as a board member (hopefully, not a bored member).

If you're ever bored, I can help.

Some years ago, I had taken an executive-level position at the company for which I worked  at the time.  The new position was a big jump from the previous position as a titled full-time hourly employee.  In fact, I jumped ahead of several layers of bosses.  The person who recommended me for the position went from being 3 pay grades sbove me, to being 7 pay grades below.  Due to my relative youth and tenure, my salary was about the same ad the next lower pay grade to the position I took

Anyway, I had to attend a bunch of meetings, usually early in the morning.  One day, I had gone out to lunch with the person who recommended me, and we were discussing the meetings.  I told him I was a bored executive.  He laughed a bit, and suggested that it was executive bored.  Actually, although my office was a few doors down from the CEO, I was not on the executive board.  The meetings were basically breakfast, and a bunch of people complaining for 2 hours.  I was so thankful for my position, I really had nothing about which to complain, other than having to attend the meetings.  Normally, I worked 2nd shift.  My duties did not change, so I had to show up for the 6am meeting, then work until 8pm.

The best part of that job was that I had no direct reports, but did have 900 people under my direction.  So, no reviews, hiring, firing, or coaching sessions.  At 22, not a bad job.  All I had to do was meet the metrics provided, and be available to fine-tune those 900 people.  I got 3 performance raises in 1 year, and a 20% bonus.

Welcomed new member rabivii (Ralph Brand)  rabivii is pronounced Rabbi 7
*Discussed future Caffeine and Octane attendance.  It was decided that we would do a club group display about once every 3 months, weather permitting. Individuals are free to attend other months if they desire.
*Three persons so far have qualified for positions on the Board of Directors.
*The December Christmas Party was discussed.  New member Ralph Brand manages a chain of motels and has offered to arrange a conference room in one of the hotels with food catered in.  He may be able to secure one at little to no cost to the club, other than the food.
*Location for the November meeting is yet to be determined.  It depends upon the availability of Scott's shop.

The sooner we know about the location for the November meeting, the better.
