Here's your chance. Today is the day.

Nothing to do with me. Last I saw this Fiero, it was in dire need of a detail.
-
If I read that correctly, Fred B. bought it for $90K! Well, apparently it did go up in value.
To put that in perspective, a new Corvette starts at $60K.
-
90K?! I wouldn't have thought it would go for even half that.
-
Well, I'm sure there were multiple bidders. Reserve was $65K
-
Here's the kicker: imaging being the person who bid, say, $85K, and didn't get it.
-
I wonder if my Fiero is the next to last one made. I'll take $45K.

That should make my high mileage worn out 86SE worth about 30k

Check your VIN number against the number made in 1988 (26402).
-
Does the last one made in 87 make it worth $80000.?
Just asking;
Harry

Wowww. What a lovely car..and price!..and pictures.
-
Fred B would be Fred Bartlemeyer. He owns a number of unique Fieros. I think he's HyperV6 on pff. Used to work for gm. He also bought the 2+2 fastback.
-
I was trying to state who it was, without using his full name. HyperV6 is a different person.
No "L" in his last name.

One of the first 5000 '88s? 04920
-
Both of the last two Fieros were signed all over the body panels by the employees.
-
I have never figured out the order thing. Mine is 20964. I believe it was made in late April.
-
The tag on the door should tell you the manufacture date. It might be on the RPO tag, too.
-
So... Of course there is lots of speculation that this will help to drive up the prices of "regular" Fieros.
I would tend to agree. It certainly has placed the Fiero squarely "front and center" in the vision of probably any collector who was there.
I probably need to buy another, before prices get really stupid. (Tammy said, "You could do that... But will you ever sell any of them?" I'm thinking that I would just leave that detail to her, after I'm gone. :D )
What are everyone's thoughts?
-
I've noticed a general up-tick in asking prices on FB, C-list, CarGurus, etc -- even though NADA seems to be depreciating Fiero values once or twice a year. A $90K Fiero can only increase asking prices, which should increase sold prices.
I'd enjoy selling my Fiero for more than I paid for it.
-
Positives and negatives. Can sell them for more but makes parts more too. 😞
-
Personally, I never intend to sell mine and am likely to need a lot of parts to keep it running, so no advantage to a high priced fiero to me.
There is so little awareness of the fiero here there is probably close to zero demand and not far off zero supply either.
Will be interesting to watch USA prices though to see if any impact at all.

True, but a more valuable car should also increase the number of aftermarket suppliers. In this case, parts may be produced that would otherwise be unavailable.

I’ll keep that in my prayers.

My yellow car is 01970. One of the first 2000 88's. My white car is 23038, a fairly late one.

We'll average them and say $45K ;D

When my swap was done, the guy had a detail done. The "detail" damaged a lot of things. Things also went missing. The RPO sticker was obliterated.

Planning to sell?

That's my hope.

MR2's have about doubled in value in the last year. This is another reason why fiero's are creeping up. Cant afford a mr2, get a fiero. Still cheap by comparison but seeing an uptick. Decent n/a mr2 are 8k. The sc model has gone batty. The 80s are hot.
