Is there a source for new bump stops for the '88 control arms? I saw some for the Riviera that looked similar.

These (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Energy-Suspension-9-9150G-Control-Arm-Bump-Stop-Set-Fits-79-85-Riviera/324371589641?_trkparms=aid=555021&algo=PL.SIMRVI&ao=1&asc=225074&meid=6693144d3867422b84e6ef529d806861&pid=100752&rk=1&rkt=3&mehot=pf&sd=164559095137&itm=324371589641&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=SimplRVIAMLv5WebWithPLRVIOnTopCombiner&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982&redirect=mobile&autorefresh=true).

After I looked at the link twice they did begin to look familiar. 😂
I’ve got no clue. 😂
-
I'm hoping someone has found something that works in an '88.
-
I wonder if Chevette of the era bump stops would work. They may still be available.
-
The Riviera ones look similar to me, as well.
Your link showed out of stock, but Amazon and others have them. (Google "9.9150G". Looks like lots of vendors.)
-
Right. I'd like to get new bump stops, but can't tell the difference between these similar products.

Likely on a pre-'88. Not so sure about on an '88, unless the part is the same, stock.
-
But one at autozone and if wrong bring it back.
-
Autozone no longer allows returns. I did return something, recently, but they were very upset. Apparently, returned parts are infected.
-
Oh, the bump stop would have to be trimmed, so no return, anyway.

What????????
Yet another reason not to do business with them

Yes, the store manager called me a whole string of names. So, I went to 2 other stores. They each insisted that I return to the original store.
-
I’ve returned several things to them.
-
So have I. Try to get them to give you credit for a core charge but you get to keep the core because they can't accept a return.
-
I have made returns, in the past. This particular item was a set of Duralast wrenches. The set was sold to me as an open item. The clerk even opened it in front of me. I returned the set (20 wrenches) because i found a better set, for about $40 less. The set I returned was still all strapped in place. I returned to the same lady that had rung me out and opened the set. She checked the set, then started processing the return, omly I noticed that she did not have the set included in the return. She called over the manager, who checked the set, then screwed up the return. I again complained that they only processed the return on a $1.49 item. The manager argued with me. Mathematically, it is impossible to return several items--including an item for $79.99, and have the return total be less than $3.00! So, I made them process the return for the tools. Although the parts had not been in my posession for over an hour, he checked the set, again, this time cutting all the straps. He made all sorts of accusations. I got my money back. The manager said that next time, he won't give me my money back, that I'll have to go for a store credit. I told him store credit is for people who are satisfied customers, and want to return and do business with the store again. Next time, I won't bother going back--I'll just dispute the charge.

The '88 bump stops appear to be different. The pre-'88 bump stops apre apparently sortof conical in shape, where the '88's are more step-like.

Good point. I’m told that I look like a jerk and that’s why most just shut up and do what I ask. And FYI... I can be that guy if need be. I have had GMs of a business crying. But only if I’m 100% I’m right or in the right.
I once had a district manager of a fast food chain tell me he will do whatever I want to make it right if I just get off the phone and stop emailing the president of the company (and everyone In between )

Yes, I can be that guy. Unfortunately, lately, being that guy is required, to get anything.
