Fiero lovers,
Every month A newsletter is put out. It is a lot of work. The newsletter team needs your help.
How can I help you ask???
Send in photos, write ups, tech tips, product reviews, project updates, fun/funny/interesting stories..... etc etc.
Just think at one point you turned the key to your Fiero fine the first time and became addicted to the fun amazing little car. What advice, tips, tricks, recommendations etc would wish you had from day one??? That’s what we want.
We are not expecting perfection, a novel, or even proper grammar. We can help tell your story for you.
Anything helps. At this point I’ll let GTRS chime in on how to submit content.
Thank you all in advance.

Thanks, Ralph.
Send all submissions to the club email address.
Be sure to include how you want to be credited.

There are 3 articles with which I could use help.

The increase in article submissions has been great. With this increase, I would like to offer a few reminders:
- 1. Pictures, graphics, images, etc need to be pictures you took, or artwork you created. I cannot include copywritten content in a published article. Although there have been some such images used, I paid for all 3 of them.
- 2. Past newsletters may have similar articles. All article topics are indexed in each year's newsletter thread. To avoid repeats of technical article content, it may help to review prior newsletter topics. Who knows, you may also find a topic in which you're interested.
- 3. When writing an article, I try to include whatever info is needed, so that whomever is reading the article won't have to go searching online for missing into. For example, if I do heater cores, the article should cover heater cores for both AC-equipped cars and
swearsweat-ready Fieros. This is one of the difficult parts about writing technical articles, having to write for more than just specific cases.

As the number of Newsletters and articles grow each month, an on-line Newsletter Table of Contents would be useful.
This would be a way to locate various articles on radios, windows, or whatever.

I realized the need for some form of article indexing back in 2019, and started indexing the articles, just to keep track for myself, and to help me find things. There are newsletter threads for each year, in the Club News board:
- 2018 Newsletters (http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=3024.0)
- 2019 Newsletters (http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=3407.0)
- 2020 Newsletters (http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=3955.0)
- 2021 Newsletters (http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=4478.0)
At the top of each newsletter thread are all the newsletters for that year. If you scroll down, there is a post for each month's newsletter with all the topics for that newsletter. If you click on the newsletter in those posts, you will get that newsletter. Prior to implementing this form of indexing, I had considered other forms of indexing. We aren't equipped to index in a database; monolithic indexing (as implemented by some other Fiero clubs) is terrible IMHO; and there are limits on my time and the newsletter format. Since I really only have the option of using a thread, this method seemed best.
If you look closely, I massaged how the topics are listed, to make these as searchable and representative as possible. These newsletter topics do come up on Google and the board search.
Truth to be told, when someone posts a question about a topic that has been covered in a newsletter article, I look up that topic in the newsletter threads, then (to save bandwidth) verify with my local copy of the newsletter, before finally advising that the topic is covered in newsletter whatever.

I will be helping with a vacuum line change out next week. I will document the process and write up the procedure.
-
Great!
Is this a swap to Rodney's stainless lines?
-
Yes. At the same time, an upgrade on 3.4 injectors to the Bosch EV1 4-pintle injectors.
-
Your Fiero?

I'm guessing this will be a how-to, not a review.
-
Did you get that written up?

I revisited this idea. Lots of time involved to implement something like this. I still have not seen any implementation of this that is good. I did create a list of categories.

I was up at Scott's helping with his Formula. We weren't getting anywhere, so we stopped to finish off the donuts. The subject of the vacuum lines and injectors came up and since I had already loaded the car to come down your way, I had everything with me. Scott suggested we make the day worthwhile and do the swap. We didn't get done until sometime after 5, closer to 6.
I did document the process, combining the vacuum lines and the injector replacement. They can be split into two different articles in the newsletter, but the pictures would be duplicitous. Or, I can submit the article for the injectors, and you can document your vacuum line swap. Deal?
I saved the vacuum lines and they're still yours. I'll bring them along to the meeting. The PVC line snapped at the valve, so you'll have to use yours, and also the FP regulator hose has a repair sleeve I installed years ago, but it worked well. I have several other partial vacuum line sets and might have everything needed without reusing any of yours.

Well, that explains why you weren't jumping in on Scotr's 4.9 thread.

Still looking for someone to write a particular article for May.

Newbie here...just checking-in on the progress of this thread and the origial request/post :), since I see we have a couple of new members since April.
I will be checking out the previous years' newsletters and see how I/we can contribute! Thank you!

Right now we don’t have an editor. We need some to put out a short newsletter with highlights
-
What happened to the editor?
-
It was just a personal matter. You know, family comes first and he’s very busy. I’d do more if I had more time. I’m trying my best. They just gave me 6 more hotels to manage.

Understood!
Thank you.... what does the Highlights feature involve?

Are you not using the Newsletter Group Mailing in the club email contacts? There are somewhere around 100 addresses in those 2 newsletter groups that were receiving the newsletter. I'm not receiving the newsletter any longer.

I’m using newsletter A and B. I haven’t had time to finish December yet.
