That’s just the knob. If I recall correctly it pulls/pushes something on the turn signal switch.

That’s why I’m pulling the one from my 86 gt and rebuilding it for mine making two swap easy. I will take detailed photos when time allows.

I thought one of those Fieros was an automatic, and the other a manual.

Both stick. But we may have a contract on our house so things may be on the back burner for a bit

I pulled and pushed, and unscrewed and screwed, and swapped out the knob.  It fit.  Unfortunately, I didn't think of this while my Fiero was away.  It took maybe 5 minutes to swap, because I had to find the right bit.  And the Gestapo drove by.  Sigh.
