I am looking for a set of wheels for my Gold 86 GT. I also need a headlight motor for the right side.
-
If you have a headlight motor, I can refurbish it.
-
I think I have a set of gray wheels. They are a bit dirty but they look gray to me.
-
I expected to have to do some refurbishment anyway. What do you want for them?
-
I have the motor still. I tried refurbishing once which is probably why it doesn’t work. Should I ship it?

Shoot me a fair offer. They are on our parts car so I’d need to put something back on it.
-
Just hold it over your head, as in your avatar.

Where are you located? Perhaps we could meet part way.
-
They are from an 88, but I have a good set of formula lace wheels with what are basically brand new tires that are sitting in my shop.
-
'88 should be black--at least, the set that was on that fastback Formula was.
-
I have two sets of 88 lace wheels. All black, and the fronts are thinner, and might not look proper on an 86.

88 lace wheels were available in black and gold only. I saw a Formula with gold lace on a bright red paint job like pgackerman's and it really looked nice. I don't know if it came with gold, but they were available.
-
AFAIK, Formulas only came with black lace wheels.
-
It might have been possible to place an order for a Formula with the gold wheel option. When we bought Melanie's 93 Grand Am, it could be ordered with a number of different wheels, including lace wheels. I think they were all-aluminum color, though. They did offer a chrome plastic lace wheel cover for the steel wheels, too.
-
IIRC, that was possible on the GT. Formulas had limited options.
-
BTW, the gold wheels for the '88 were different from the gold wheels for the '86.
But we're way off topic.
-
So the gray wheels are on the 86gt which is presently at crazy Jimmy’s house. If you have something to put on it so as not to be sitting on stands then I’m sure we can work something out.
-
If you have some 14 inch tires, I have some 14 inch Fiero wheels. They presently have old rotted tires that would need to be removed first.
-
Ralph, I've got a set of 14s with good tires. One has a slow leak, but they all seem to be decent. All have good tread.
I've got no use for them. They won't fit over my brakes. Come and get 'em if you want.
-
Wheels: I don’t want to sound picky. I hope to stay with year correct wheels with the right color.
Headlight motor: I live in Woodstock.
-
Well the wheels are on an 86 gt. I can only assume they are the original ones. Like I said we just need to stick something on it. If I get new tires on my black wheels then I can put mine on the 86 so you can get the gray ones.
-
Kevin, 86 and 87 lace wheels were all gray centers. How about meeting in Duluth on Thursday or Friday? Remove the motor and bring it.
Arnold Mill to Milton Parkway or 92, 400 and Milton Parkway.
Even better is the meeting Saturday at the Marietta Diner.

Heh... And I can't even give my 14s away. :D
-
I know the feeling. I have 6 rims in my truck and another 6 out back. Aluminum wheels were going listed for $0.76 per pound and when I called they confirmed, but when I got there they only offered $0.26 per pound. They didn't even see them so I know it couldn't have been because they had PONTIAC on them.

Ralph, I noticed that the picture of the wheel you posted is a PNG picture. If you convert your pictures to JPG format, they will be smaller files, and thus can be bigger pictures (in height and width).
-
Also, there's no picture there and can't be seen by anyone who's not registered for our forum and not logged in.

I was trying to do it quickly from my phone

Did you still want to get the wheels? If so PM me so we can work out the details.
