Reminded everyone to reach out to Michael for article ideas. Take photos of everything you do; it can be made into an article.
From Michael:
I’m still looking for someone to write an article on insurance for Fieros. This will be a lot of work on the phone, most likely. Likely, this article would include coverage options, carriers, expectations, pros and cons.
I’m also still looking for someone to write an article on various Fiero wheel options, including tires. Apparently, I’m not the only one for whom the chart isn’t helpful. Such an article should include tire sizes that fix, scrub radius, and spare tire size/options. Other details, such as wheel spacers, stock lug bolt pattern, and lug nut info may also need to be included.
With RFTH just around the corner, an article on Fiero safety would be great. This would be a then-and-now article. This article would involve some research back into Fiero incidents and incident reports.

Thanks. Add to calendar?
-
Nobody looks at the calendar, but I'll do it.
-
Just me. It shows up on the events page. Sortof on the home page. Google indexes those changes, and should list our events. Anyway, or rankings go up. More people will find out web site, and may participate.
-
Agenda?
-
Ill plan to be there! now that im actually a Fiero owner again lol
-
Any chance we can go earlier? It was very busy and noisy there last month.
-
If the food was bad, it would be less busy.

I think if it were any earlier, we would lose more of those who live outside the Metro area.
-
I thought 9:30am was supposed to be their slow time.
-
I’ve been there earlier and later. Yeah. 930 is “slow”. We chose 930 so everyone can come but not get up stupid early. Well at least most everyone in the state can.

Something that really ruins a thread, is a bunch of dead picture links. Browsing through the threads, I found that more and more images that are remotely hosted have gone dead, for one reason or another.
We have 8 malformed image links (images that never worked). We have 1,397 images hosted remotely (many no longer working). We have some posts that say they have images, but you have to look at the contents of the post to see that they did, because it doesn't even show a missing image icon. A total of 90 different remote hosts are currently "in use".
Many remote hosts are dead; or the images were removed; or the images have been rendered useless, due to blurring and/or watermarking. Some remote hosts require logins to view the images. Some remote hosts have placed the images behind a paywall.
To be fair, we have 5,684 images hosted locally, so we not all images will vanish.
A total of 794 images are hosted on photobucket. 99 images are hosted on Pennocks, and then there are 98 other remote hosts. On the face of it, Pennocks may seem better than the rest, but most of those links are now also dead. Some images are hosted on personal servers, vendor sites, news sites, auction sites, or file sharing services.
53 of the 85 users who post images have at least 1 image hosted remotely. I'm an offender on the remote image hosting. Of the 2,136 images I've posted, 22 of those are hosted remotely. Some members use exclusively remote image hosting. One user has 300 remotely hosted images. 67 images are remotely hosted by users whose accounts no longer exist. 11 current users have images hosted remotely.
I'm not picking on anyone other than myself, but these are all actual stats.
These stats are for the forum proper, only.
My hope is that at least some of these can be corrected.
-
That's why I always suggest using our image posting app. Any guest browser can't see most remotely hosted images, and it may be vital to helping them resolve a problem, without registering, getting approval, then logging in.

I was making a possible agenda suggestion. Wrong thread?

I was making a possible agenda suggestion. Wrong thread?
And so you were. Just seemed kind of "out of left field". I get it.
-
Sorry. I was looking for something specific, and the images were gone. I had previously read that topic, and the images were there, IIRC, so within the last few years, those images took a one-way flight...
This has been an increasing problem, recently, not just here, but on PFF, as well. So, I pulled the stats, to see how big of a problem this is. I'll just leave it there.

A possible item may be a picnic or BBQ.

Meeting notes updated

Thanks.

Thanks.
My pleasure

One big problem with the current meeting location: The background noise level is really bad. Maybe Ralph needs one of those portable lecterns with a built-in microphone and amp.
-
Some restaurants have areas that are sectioned off, which helps a lot with that.

I have one…. No joke.
-
Room for it at the restaurant?
-
I can just bring my shamwow belt clip speaker and mic.
-
Just asking, but is the Csffeine & Octane show OK with people advertising for other events there, do you have to get permission, or...?
-
I already spoke to them. It’s all worked out. As long as we only have one car per spot we can have a tent. Also we can pass flyers out no problem
-
Excellent! I should have figured you'd have handled that.
-

We'd have to be driving Smart Cars to get more than one car in a spot. :D
(I think I understand where you're coming from. Just sounded funny.)
And yeah. The noise level in the restaurant was... a bit overwhelming.
-
I was just curious how you get multiple cars and a tent in one spot.

Running start?
-
Two things are bad for the heart: running down stairs, and running down people.
I suspect the later would occur.
-
The tent can be as big as we want as long as we only cover our cars and only one car per spot.
-
Did we pick up 2 more members?
-
I'm guessing the scholarship thing came out of the meeting?
-
The scholarship was discussed several months ago. I’ve been trying to get myself in gear and get it all set up.
-
Did we pick up 2 more members?
The members page shows Marc Weldon and Tim Cronan twice, each, and two members are on the same line.
-
I’m not exactly sure. I just asked Charlie the number and wrote it down.
-
Counting the duplicates, there are 30 members on that page.
