I just submitted our entry form for the 2010 Atlanta St. Patricks Day Parade. It will be on Saturday, March 13. As usual, if your car cleans up good on the outside, you're welcome and invited to join us.
-
I'd like to know who is planning to drive in the parade. Also, anyone have any suggestions for banner carriers?
-
I'm planning on driving the banner in the parade. My granddaughter is probably too small to carry the banner (4 yrs old), but she's awfully cute.
-
Are you going to have club logos put on your car?
-
I'm planning on driving the banner in the parade.
I meant to say, "I'm planning on driving in the parade.". I don't know how it came out like that.
-
I will try to make it as well with the DD project car if I can get it painted by then.
D.
-
I'm planning on being there.
Unless it snows.
-
I've got 5 confirmed.

I've just spoken with Atul Patel, an associate member of the Georgia Fiero Club. He's General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 20 in Buford, near the Mall of Georgia at I-85 North.
In the past he has offered special rates to our Fiero friends. He is offering rooms for $69 and includes a hot breakfast for anyone from out of state that might want to stay overnight while participating in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. For those who aren't familiar with the area, the Mall of Georgia covers more than 350 acres and is the largest mall in the state, and I think the 2nd largest in the US.
It's also about 5 minutes away from Discover Mills, a manufacturer's outlet mall and home of the Bass Pro Shop, 10 minutes from Gwinnett Mall, and 30 minutes from the Tanger Outlet Mall. There are tons and tons of restaurants in the area of all the malls.
Contact Atul Patel at Holiday inn Express, Ga. Hwy 20, Buford Drive, Buford, Georgia. 678-381-1080 Tell him you are a Fiero owner. Atul owns a 308 rebody.

Ashby and Lee have my yellow car now, so it looks like I'll have 2 for the parade. I'll just need another driver.
-
HOW ABOUT A COUPLE OF FOOTBALL PLAYERS FROM A LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TO CARRY THE BANNER ??????
-
Ray has already gotten the same two girls that carried it last year, but Tim Shannon suggested this guy.
-
If that guy carries the banner, I won't be there.
-
I bet Conrad will be, though. ;D
-
Your probably right... ;D
-
It will be real close on the time with getting my car back together but I think I will make it with the DD.
as long as the flag guy does not show :o
I have the passanger side of the car back together and tomarow I will have the drivers side and the hood done. I am still waiting for the body guy to finish the rear deck lid and bumper so I can get them painted and installed as well as finish the brakes.

Update:
Jack Cooke can't make it.
Rick Foreman rolled his 85GT twice.
Whodeanie--working hard to get it ready.
Hoping Conrad and Johnnie will bring at least 1 car.
Pat, if Peter drives the 86, I'll drive one of your cars for you.
As we do each year, we'll meet not later than 9AM at the Kroger shopping center on Howell Mill Road, off I-75.
Coming South on I-75, exit right to Howell Mill. Turn right at the end of the ramp and go about 1/4 mile. There is a bank on the left. I think it's a Bank of America. We will meet in the Kroger lot directly behind it.
Coming North on I-75, Exit at Howell Mill Road, turn left and go to the Kroger center on the left.
Coming Ga. 400 South, merge to I-85 South, exit right onto I-75 North. Exit right at Howell Mill. Turn left to the Kroger center.
We will need to pull out sometime around 9:30 to get to our parade entry point before other groups get there and block us. If you are late, you will probably not be able to get through the other groups to join up with us. Please bring decorations for your cars. We will not be allowed to throw anything from the vehicles. To do so will cause them to remove you from the parade.
I will have maps to get us from the Kroger center to the parade entry point. I haven't been notified of that entry point, yet but I'm expecting it to be at the same place on Ralph McGill Blvd.
After the parade, find your way to I-85 North. We will go to the Galaxy Diner afterward. I'll give out my cell number at the parade in case you get separated and need directions.

I think we're down to me and Derek. Julio backed out and Rick has a wedding to go to. I'm not sure about Reese yet it's still up in the air on him.
-
Even though it's going to be raining later this week, the long range outlook on weather.gov calls for partly sunny and 65 on Saturday. So don't let the rain scare you. Shine up your car and come on down!

God Charlie. Now I have to go wash out my eyes with soap.... >:(

yesterday I was able to get most of the car back together. the brakes are done as well. now I have to wait for the body guy to get my deck lid and rear bumper done. if I can get them by no later than wed. I should be able to get them painted in time for the show. I have some clips on the way from the Fiero store for the moldings as well as a set of spacers for the rear wheels they should both be here by tues. the rear tail light panel will not be done in time so I will just reinstall the stock ones for now.
depending on what happens this week even if I have to work all fri. night I am going to try to make it unless something major happens.
D.
-
Dean, if you get that car done in time, I'll put you right up front and let you lead. Go light a fire under Ben and bring him along, too.
-
come on! people, we need more of us to show up for this. I have not busted my but for the last few weeks to get this car done in time to just have it cancled because no one else shows up :'(
come hell or high water I will have my car done.
C: I can lead? I might get lost! ;D or spin out ::) nope!, new tires.

-
Right now, we're down to 5 cars. If I can't get 10, I'm seriously thinking about pulling us out of the parade. Pat, I'm driving the 86 GT. Peter's not going to drive it, so maybe we can get someone to drive one of yours. I'm making calls and sending emails to try to get more people. Ron Rizzi is out. He has other commitments.

I will be in town this weekend. If u need some one to drive a car I would love too.
-
I got my yellow car back today. I found in examining it that the pcv valve and breather connection gaskets I used in my home-made SD4 valve cover setup were made of a material that can't take oil, and are disintegrating. So I have to look for something else at the parts stores that I can use. But it should be ready to go Saturday. I just need a driver. I wonder if Scott Brown is available. He drove one last year.
-
Scott has no transportation since his truck got hit.
-
Now we are talking,
the body guy called me last night and I whent and picked up the deck lid at his place.
I still have at least 1/2 a day of prep and primer to do on it before I can paint it but I hope to have it in color by tonight. he also told me I should have the rear bumper by tues.
so with any luck I will have the car done by thurs. that way I have time to work out any bugs and get it cleaned up in time.
D.
here is a pic of what she looks like now.
-
Looks very good.
-
Pat. If you need a driver I will be in town. Just let me know.
-
I'll let you know after I work on the yellow car this evening.
-
I was able to get the deck painted last night so it will be on the car today. I just need the bumper now.
once I get that done I will be cleaning the car up for the show. I will not have time to get it color sanded and buffed but it will still look good.
D.
-
The yellow car is ready to go. Sonic50, would you like to drive my red one?
-
Pat email me your addrees and a phone number and what time you want me at your house and I will drive it.
My email is. Scottd at iamanascarfan dot com
-
I am going to make it for sure ;D every thing on the car is back together now except the rear bumper but I will have it back tonight and get it painted tomarow and installed friday.
-
The current forecast is still for rain through Friday night and beginning to clear early Saturday morning. They expect all rain to be gone by 10 or 11 AM. Predicted temperature is 54-57.
I've gotten the parade entry point for our group for this year. We will be at the same location as we were last year. Ralph McGill Blvd. at Peachtree, except we won't be in the curb lane. We have been moved out 1 lane to the left. This likely means that due to our 10 year participation we will be entering the parade earlier than before and we can see everyone that enters the parade route before us. It definitely means we won't be sitting under those street lights that have the pigeons sitting on them.
-
...It definitely means we won't be sitting under those street lights that have the pigeons sitting on them.
You forgot the "h".
Just sayin'...

I would not want that on my fresh paint thanks! going to work on the rear now.
I was able to get the rear painted today and I will be installing it in the morning and finishing up the little things. I should be back on the road by noon ;D
I talked to Ben and Anderson and both of them are going to try and make it with cars as well. maybe we will get lucky and the weather will get better.
-
They're expecting the rain to end by noon. Only 40% chance in the forecast.
Just sent out an email to the ones I knew were coming. Missed Ben. Didn't know he planned to be there. Don't forget to bring your FRS radios.
Did anyone notice how they dropped out like flies when they found out that the guy in the picture wasn't going to carry the banner?
-
Can't wait. IF any one has a extra radio that I can used would be cool. See ya all 2 morrow morning.
-
For those that came to the event last year. See if you still have the teeshirts I handed out. I printed them with no date on them so they could be reused..
See ya tomorrow.
-
kevin you have any more of the t-shirts? any way I can buy one?
-
I didn't bother making any this year because the turnout seems to be so low.
-
I was able to get the rear done and took the car for it's first drive in the rain today and al is good for tomarow.
I am getting it cleaned back up tonight. I will see you all in the morning.
D.
-
So where's the pictures?
-
I have lots of pics, but they're too large to post. ImageResizer doesn't work for me.
-
I'll put some pictures tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight.

Good pics!
I like the last one.
The story behind the picture is that everyone was hiding behind the Coke truck, wondering which appendage to poke out into the picture.
Fortunately, good taste prevailed since ladies were present.
