The highway handling of my yellow Fiero has been getting "squirrely" lately, and on the way home from Caffeine and Octane, it was getting downright scary. The thing's got over 250,000 miles on it, and all the bushings are original. I think I replaced the lower ball joints some time in the past, but they could be bad, too. I think I'm going to have to rebuild the suspension on it. And since my other Fiero has a bad transmission, that make me out of Fieros for a while.
I don't want to drive the Polar Bear run in a SUV, so I probably won't be going on that.

You could check to make sure the lower ball joints bolts are still tight. I am referring to the ones holding the joint in itself.
Upon dropping my cradle this week I found that mine where loose in the back. I was experiencing similar problems to before and couldn't find the issue till recently.

That 88GT is at pullapart in Duluth. It's in pretty sad shape according to AJ, but it may have some trailing and lateral links worth grabbing. He was going to grab the front calipers since they were just hanging by the fluid lines. I don't know if he managed to get the rear ones off, or not.

Oh no! I hope this winter you get enough rest, relax, finish other pending works, meet old friends....and then, after a day or two, start missing it and do the needful back to us :)

I'm sorry I did not post an update...on the way back from the Fiero, I hit my head on other Pontiacs and older Buicks...not so hard but it gave me a headache and a bumo so I couldn't return yesterday. Will be free again this Sunday, if I don't get a day off before then. Apologies! :(

I examined the front suspension on my yellow Fiero over the last few days, and the only thing wrong I found (besides a torn ball joint dust boot, which I replaced) was the sway bar end link bushings. I replaced the bushings with some poly ones, and l went on a test drive. The car did OK, so now the problem is, what to do about the Polar Bear run and the meeting being on the same day.

Invite them to the meeting or cancel the meeting until February.

Haven't we sometimes delayed a meeting by one week to avoid conflict with an event?
-
I don't recall ever doing it. We have had occasions where some had the choice to go to an event or attend the meeting. Like Daytona or the All Pontiac at Pigeon Forge events.
