Title: Chick-fil-A Father-Daughter Event
Post by: Fierofool on January 25, 2022, 09:37:14 pm
Got this from Paul Ackerman.

FEBRUARY 26, 4-8 PM

Found this on FB.  Takes place in Athens:

Chick-fil-A Atlanta Highway
3637 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606
marketing.cfa.atlhwy@gmail.com
Store Phone: 706.369.1806

Every year, Chick-fil-A hosts a Daddy Daughter Date Night for fathers and daughters to get together and bond. While we didn't host an event last year due to covid, we are bringing it back and hosting a Retro Diner themed event. This event will be on Saturday, February 26th, from 4 - 8 pm.
We are seeking out 3-6 volunteers to bring out their classic cars for the daughters and fathers to view and visit as part of the event. The event runs 4 hours with a new group of daughters/fathers arriving every 45 minutes. If volunteers can only be present part of the time, that is fine as well. We are wanting at least 2 cars per hour so each daughter/father can experience them.
Because this event is not for profit, we would love to compensate volunteers for their dinner meals that evening and also coupons for Chick-fil-A meals later on.
If you know of anyone who would be interested, please either send them my contact information or I would love to reach out to them if you could provide any contacts.
Thank you so much for your time and efforts!

Restaurant Marketing Director

Go to the Auburn Car Show in the morning, then Chick-fil-A for dinner.
Both are now listed in the Car Show thread.

I only post the event.  Usually from FB.
Links are included so readers can see if there's a fee, been canceled, or someone posted a completely wrong date.  ???

Sounds like a good theme...letting others experience the joy of viewing our creations and our passion!

Chick-fil-A would like an idea of how many cars we can muster.  They have enough room for 5-7 cars.  Cars don't have to stay for the full event as others can come in to fill the slots.

Dang, wish my car were ready (and clean-er)! :(

I'm planning on going, but i have to take my yellow car, since I have already started disassembling my white car. I'm not sure "Buzz" will be well received in Athens.

Gabe did First Startup on my car today.  It should be ready for Athens.

Very good. I'm assuming that's with the new ECM.
Who did the chip/tune?

Who else but Sinister.  I don't know anyone else who does the chip and adapter.

How was the Chick-fil-A Father-Daughter Event?

There were a total of 4 vehicles on display.  An El Camino, maybe early to mid 70's vintage rolled through, waved and kept going.

Pat and I arrived about 3:45 and a 51 GMC 3/4 ton stake body truck was already there.  Shortly afterward, a 95 Vette rolled in.  We were the only ones for the duration.  Pat and the man with the Vette also showed at the Auburn Car Show.

Lots of Father/Daughter groups came over to look and talk.  Some with just a single daughter, some with up to three in tow.  Ranged from barely walking to a 'Tween.  We took all the remaining Hot Wheels Fieros along to hand out and came back with an empty box.  About 20 were given away.

A number of people picked up club business cards, so there was a little interest other than just seeing some old cars.

Many of the lady employees were dressed in the era style dresses, skirts, blouses and shoes.  Big flared skirts, bright colors, and some even did their hair in era hairstyles.  The kids followed suit with parents dressing them in like fashion.

The man who brought the truck left about 6:30 but left the truck there.  Pat left shortly afterward and the man with the Corvette and I stayed until about 7:30.  We were out in the corner of the lot where it wasn't well lighted and spectators ceased.

The Chick-fil-A people were fabulous.  A goodie bag with about a half dozen (haven't counted) gift cards for a meal.  Rachel, the manager was very pleasant and the staff very friendly.  They provided us with a free meal while we were there.

I didn't know we had Hot Wheels Fieros! I would've loved to have one..... One at my work, one in the shower, one on my bed, one on the dining table, one in my non-Fiero daily car...:)

A deceased member left us about 150 of them.  They've been handed out at RFTH thru the years.  They're all gone, now.
