Title: Looking for a 4.9 part!
Post by: SpadeCustoms on May 24, 2022, 04:59:13 pm
I need an oil filter bracket for the 4.9. This is the piece that is attached to the motor and holds the oil filter.

Pull A Part south Atlanta has a 89 Deville 4.5, hopefully it still intact. Going tomorrow, wish me luck.

Found my part.

Additionally there is a blue 87 fastback gt in row 111. Behind that there is a supercharged Monte Carlo and motor looks to be complete.

Do you know what the process is to get the full engine out of that monte is?

Like how does pull a part deal with that situation?

They do have a lot of stuff there to rent or use. Go carts, wheelbarrows etc.....I am not for certain anything else. It will cost you $2 to get in, unless you are prior military then its free. Just bring your own tools.

I didn't know about the Veteran Status.  I've been paying since my first visit back in 2004.  I have seen a rental gantry at the Norcross North Yard.  I figured they all had one or two.  May need to bring a comealong and some chains, which I have.

Thanks for sharing the info about the 3800SC. With some help from Charlie, I was able to oull the engine and bring it home!

Looks like it was well taken care of and it had everything with it!

Also looks like the car ended up there because I was rusted to hell underneath.

I have met a man that has most 4.9 parts you might need.  He's in the Macon area.  Message or email me for his information if you need 4.9 parts.  Sorry, Jason that this comes a little late for you, but you already have the part you needed.

His inventory includes complete engines and transmissions,  too.  Specializes in 4.9's.

You don't even need the gantry. If you disconnect everything and unbolt it they will pull it with the forklift and load it into your truck for you. Was super easy when I pulled the aluminum LS last year.

It took hours and hours for him to get them down there, but 2 guys came down with the fork lift and even helped him get the final bolt(s) out and dragged it from underneath the car.
