A heads-up if you have a 2.8 or a 3.1 or 3.4 transplant in your Fiero. Should you need to replace the water pump and it doesn't come with the water pump gasket, you may be in trouble. Even the timing gear cover sets don't come with the water pump gasket.
I have been contemplating addressing the coolant leak coming from the area of my water pump. It's a new pump, so it isn't the bearing/bushing. Only has about 20 miles on it.
In my search to find a gasket, I found that neither O'Reilly, AutoZone, Advance, nor Rock Auto has the gasket. They either list it as Not Available, or Notify Me When Available. I finally found it at NAPA but it isn't in stock at any of the North Georgia stores. They must order it from the Nashville warehouse. You might want to order one and keep it in stock. Cheap insurance for $3.49 plus tax. Some stores will add a shipping charge that will be more than the gasket, but it's still worth having something that may soon be unavailable.

Rockauto has (under "engine" heading) the FEL-PRO TCS45466 timing cover gasket kit on closeout for the 85 and 86. It includes the timing cover gasket, the water pump gasket, crank seal, and an odd gasket that I cannot identify. :D

The kits shown for the 87 and 88 2.8 have the wrong water pump gasket.
The 85-87 also show a MAHLE JV948. The water pump gasket is similar, but wrong. Be careful. I have no idea what that one is supposed to fit. I've never seen a water pump that looked like that. (Looking at the corner where the "rectangle" is. The image is also inverted, but still...)
Edit - Rockauto also shows (Under "cooling" heading) the correct water pump gaskets available for 85-88 under FEL-PRO 35220, for $1.66. It also shows the same incorrect MAHLE gasket that is included in the timing cover kit.

I don't remember if I looked under cooling or engine on Rock Auto, but didn't find it. I did find some that were for the 3.4 that were tagged for the 2.8. Somewhere I also found a big round one that said it was compatible with the 2.8 Fiero engine.
