The early (or at least pre-88) Getrag had a screw-in cap in the back/side of the gear case (as opposed to in the side of the differential housing).
The Getrag service manual even shows a dipstick, although I have my questions as to whether it was really a dipstick, or just a plug.
Either way, does anyone have one they can part with?
Thanks!

There was a screw-in dipstick to the left of where the VSS is located. My 86 and my old 87 transmissions have them.

I will take a look at mine later today.

Thanks, guys.

No big. Paul said that you had 2-3 cars as well as your own car to finish, before the 40th.
