Over the years some of us have participated in this annual event to raise money for the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease) of Georga. The Polar Bear Run roams through the backroads of Georgia to reach an interesting destination. It's an all weather event, except when there might be snow or ice on the roadways. Should you want to participate, click the link for details.

The link doesn't work. Just opens my gmail app, which I nearly never use.
-
I'll try to convert and post the flyer. They meet at the Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville and the end destination is River Remedy Brewing Company in Rome, Ga.

Perfect! Thanks, Charlie.

There is now a second group starting point. For those on the West side of Atlanta leaving at 9:15 from 40 Fischer Crossing in Sharpsburg. Same destination in Rome.

Is there a route sheet available? Sharpsburg is an hour south of me. I suspect that the route will go right past me, at some point.

Thres supposed to be one on their site. I think there's a link in my post.

The email notice says to go to the Georgia Triumph Association website, then click See More for route information.
They will gather near the Costco gas pumps to start the southern group. Note that the southern and northern groups have different departure times.

I am in unless it is a monsoon. I will be heading up 19N leaving Chamblee around 8am and arriving at AMP around 9am. Drivers meeting is only at 940 and roll out at 10am and my co-pilot needs her beauty sleep.

From Jim Smith, Activities Director at the Georgia Triumph Association.
Due to the inclement weather forecast for December 28, the Polar Bear Bear Run has been rescheduled for January 4, 2025. Both starting locations and times are unchanged.
-
Thanks, Charlie!
-
I should still be able to make it.
-
It's up to my doctors whether I make it or not. I'm surprised they rescheduled because of rain. They've done it many times with rain or even icy roads.
-
Supposed to be really bad today with high wings and tornadoes. Though weather prognostication is indeed often incorrect. We'll see, I canceled and rescheduled a V8 event this past year and it turned out to be a nice but grey day.
-
Not going to make it this weekend. Going to be tied up with some friends, most of the day.
-
Steve!!! Tied up with a few friends? Bondage and Discipline!? ;D

Hey... I own a Fiero. By definition, that makes me at least a little bit of a Masochist.

Dang. Just now looking at this. Oh well, I was in Charleston, SC that day.
BTW, Remedy River is just a few miles down the street from me. Incredible brewery.
