Hey guys. And gals. I need an OEM positive battery cable for a V6. The ones at The Fiero Store and all the auto parts stores don't have the same terminal design as OEM. Some don't have the wire going to the C500, and some require a splice on that wire.
I think my starter continued running and the constant power draw for about 2 miles melted the cable out of the terminal end. I had a loud whine from the time I started it until it shut down on me.

Hi Charlie, The '88 (& maybe other cars) should have an original cable but of course I keep forgetting to check it... I'll try to remember tomorrow.
Thanks,
Paul

If you mean the 88 Warrior Project, I think everything in the engine bay burned. But if you will, check. It may still be good.
-
I checked the one on the T-boned T-Top & it's black, xo no original...
-
I'm afraid that if an idiot other than me works on it they may hook the wrong black cable to the wrong terminal.

I believe that Harbor Freight sells differently colored heat shrink tubing in various sizes. You could slide some red heat shrink on from the "small" end, and slide it up to next to the terminal.
Most "reasonable" (yeah... I know) people would take that hint.
-
Also, it would be hard for it to reach unless you got the wrong battery that had the terminals reversed...
-
Good idea with the shrink tubing if I can't find an original. I can't get a reply from the fiero farm or the fiero factory. If I can't get one from Larry Hubbert, I'll go that route.

I checked both of my stashes and Art's stash and came up empty.

Thanks, Roger. Todd Weikal and Larry Hubbert are checking their inventory.

Got one. Thanks, Todd.
