The 10th Annual Pontiacs In Pigeon Forge car show and swap meet is coming up on June 4-6. This is an exclusive car show for Pontiacs only. In addition to the trophies offered, this year will include a $500 cash bonus to the Best In Class in both Stock and Modified classes. There's lots of stuff going on in Pigeon Forge. If you don't want to stay with your car, you can enter it and go take in the sites.
The showing and judging takes place Saturday. After the show, the organizers takes everyone who wants to go on a cruise to some scenic point in the area.
The host hotel is the Music Road Hotel. It can be a little pricey for some. Usually in the $150/night range. Many of the Fiero people stay across the road at what was the Heartlander Hotel. It later became the National Parks Lodge and is now known as the Grand Smokies Condo Lodge. They offer rooms with balconies and 2 beds for about half the price of the Music Road Hotel. They have in indoor pool and game room and they provide discount coupons for the restaurant that's located in the corner of their parking lot.
They are pet friendly for those of you who would like to bring along all of the family.
Someone on one of the Fiero forums suggested that we make this a get together in celebration of Robbie Finley. I know there is usually a gathering in Sevierville each year, so maybe we could combine all this together and have a big showing of Fieros even if you don't enter the car show.
I found this thread that Robbie had started on Pennocks. He was wanting to have a big get together of Fieros

Ron Rizzi has donated several large canopies to the club. If we have enough people going, I will bring those canopies and set up for the Fiero people.

I'm looking for someone to share my room with. Non-smoking, non-snoring. That describes me, and hopefully you, too.
-
is ray not going charlie
-
I'm not sure at this time. He's had some car problems which strained his finances a little. Even if he did, I'd pay for the room.
-
Charlie, If your still looking for someone to share room with, I'll Share with you.... Jerry 85GT

I'm going to assume that Ray will go. I've reserved a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds and a rollaway for June 4 and 5. 2 queen beds or 1 king bed is the largest they offer. I think she said the rate was about $87 per night, to include the $10 for the rollaway. With 3 beds, no one will need to sleep with another.

be sure to post pics so robert can see

Here are some pictures. I will put up more tomorrow. Linda and I are quite tired now. We went to see her sister after the awards ceremony, and had to do a sort-of RFTH to get there (Pigeon Forge to Blairsville).

It was a nice day for the show.

Charlie's, mine, and Don's cars.

The club took 4 awards.

Linda's sister used to have one of these.

This one had a unique arrow head on the nose -- it looked like real flint.

More Pigeon Forge pictures:

Our Fieros had to compete against this Solstice, and it won first place. Not fair -- this is a new car, and didn't need any work!

In 1984, the Fiero wasn't the only Pontiac to be a pace car.

More pictures....

I think this Oakland comes every year.

This engine is a massive block of iron -- might weigh as much as my whole car!

Bumper pads -- not just for Fieros.

Watching over the show...

My car (ta-da!)

This river runs behind where the show was. You could step into the trees and cool off.
