Title: East Tennessee Fiero Club (Reopenning Soon)
Post by: RobsFieros on January 16, 2011, 08:51:01 pm
We've had someone messing with our forum and sending out emails from some of our members to other people. And since what all I've been through and I'm still in rehab and still having problems and can't get any help, I've decided to close the club. Update...We are reopenning soon...

That's too bad. You all are some great guys, and, of course, you all are welcome to come down to any of our meetings or events if you can.

Thanks Pat, but I'm still not able to drive yet. They are going to put me on a walking cain in a few weeks so I might ride down with someone. There's still the chance that we'll restart it later.

We're still open for now and I think Derrek is going to be the President and I'll be Vice President.

I'm also thinking about getting on disability and just selling parts out of the shop. The doctors don't think I'll be able to work on cars like I use to. But who knows until I try it. If everything goes as I want it to, I should be back in the shop soon to see what I can do. They've cancelled the final rehab course I was suppose to take. They don't think I need it to finish learnng to walk right. I'll still get the foot brace and learn to use it but that should be it. I'm also getting my eye fixed and maybe my ear. But I want back working in the shop more than anything now.

We'll have our first meeting on March 19. We haven't found the place just yet but we will. It will be between Athens and Erwin so that most people can make it on time. Perferably around 2 oclock. I'll discuss it with Darrell, Derek, and Gary and get it set up. When we find a place I'll let Gary get things set up at the resturant for eatting and parking. I need a list of people that are going to come and are driving Fiero's. I'll keep you posted on here. We'll also discuss the club and what we have planned for this year...including the swap meet we are planning...

I will try to attend so I can finally meet Rob, and, hopefully, several of our Tenn. brethren.

Would most likely drive another car or ride with someone, since my Fiero is scheduled to go in for maintenace at WhoDeanie's.

BEFORE you get your eyes fixed sounds like a lot more fun! Between your eyesight and my bad hearing (Note to Self: remember to replace ear plug in BOTH ears before firing 5 quick 12 ga rounds while skeet shooting), we could drive the Tail of the Dragon on a perfectly straight highway.

Also, just got word from She Who Must Be Obeyed that our niece is coming in the weekend of the 18-21, so unfortunately I cannot attend the March 19 Tn Fiero Club mtg.

Ok we had our meeting, and after everybody posted and called and said they'd be there. It was Gail and Me, Reese Graves, and Rick Osborne. That was a big crowd. After eatting we rode to the shop and Reese and Rick got to see just how many parts, cars, and tools were missing from what I normally kept in the shop. From the last time I was there until yesterday we had a few more things stolen and they locked the inside of the garage door, and I don't have a key for it. But since I'm renting it and have the rent up to date, I'll cut the lock off. Someone took my lounge chair that I always carried in the trunk of the Fiero, and the bag to haul it in. My water was turned on last week but this weekend it was turned off. I'm looking for a smaller garage. I'll store my tools and sell all my Fiero parts. Gary was going to come up Sunday and help me clean my car up and drive it to the meeting. Gary got sick and couldn't make it. Derek had to work as did Conrad. Charlie and Darrell had other plans. I couldn't get ahold of anybody else. But I did drive my Fiero to the carwash and back Sunday, just before the battery went dead again.

Sorry you didn't get the turnout you had hoped for.
Also sorry about all the things that have been growing legs and disappearing on you.  :(

The next time you schedule your monthly meeting for a Saturday, the wife and I will certainly try to make it up there.

The orthapidic doctors checked me out yesterday and they were tickled at the progress that I was making. I got to see the x-rays on my shoulders and my leg, and I've got a bunch of screws and metal plates in me. They watched me walking with and without the cane and moving my arms and moving my leg and foot and said everything works great. They pushed down on my arms and I held the doctor up then he pushed up on my arms and I pulled down on them and I held him steady. He said I could go back to work or do whatever I wanted to do. Just don't pick up to much weight and I should be fine. He said it was alright to use the brace until I get built back up then try and go without it, he thinks I'll do great after everything gets retrained.....

So...it's time to go back to work...

Just had my eyes checked again,,,and the left eye has an infection that needs some work and medicine, the right eye has signs of a catarak. No I can't spell. Next month they will check my parrille vision in Chattanooga. I have to wash my eyes 3 times a day with a clean cloth with hot water. They think they might have to repair my eyelid over my left eye that was damaged in the accident, so my eye lid will close all the way. I have sav and cream to put on my eyes everyday.

I'm doing greater now that I can see better...

I'm just now starting to remember things, like somethings about the wreck. It happened at the end of the road near where my Dad lives. There is a large parking lot less than a quarter of a mile from where we pulled over with plenty of lights. I can't believe we pulled off there, it's just stupid. Surely not my ideal...

I've decided to keep about 3 of my Fiero's and sell the rest, along with my Fiero parts. I'll store my tools and equipment in a storage building somewhere, and keep my Fiero's at my house, so I can drive them whenever I want. I will sell all my Fiero parts, cheap and sell the rest of my Fiero's at a fair price. I think I'll keep my gold 86GT-2.8, and my black 86 SE-3800NA, and my white 84 2.5, and maybe my red 85 SE.

I have a bunch of parts, body and otherwise. Mostly notchback rear clips. Come and see what parts I have left and make me a fair offer. I want everything out of the shop asap. But since I have so much missing from before the wreck to now, I don't want to be taken again. But if you have a Fiero, I might make you a great price. Everything will be cash and you load it and haul it. No reciepts...

Robbie is coming to my daughter's house around 11 o'clock Saturday.  Conrad wants to meet up somewhere for everyone to have lunch.  There's a Mexican Restaurant less than a mile away.  If anyone would like to come join us, email me and I will give you directions.  It's 4 lane highway from anywhere around Atlanta to within 2 miles of my daughter's house.  Or if the majority prefer, we can meet at the Galaxy.

We had talked about going to The Galaxy Diner.  I just remembered that they have their car show on the first Saturday of the month, so their lot will be crowded.

I suggested my daughter's house since he will be coming right by there to go to Conrad's.  If anyone else has a suggestion, let us know.

As a City Boy, I've been told that if you drive outside the 285 perimeter you will fall off the edge of the earth...  so all I know are the downtown/midtown places like the Varsity, Silver Skillet, Landmark Diner, etc.

If enough people want to come this way, I will gladly help coordinate a location...  otherwise, just let me know where you plan to meet and I will put on my helmet and oxygen tank and venture to the Regions Unknown in order to finally meet Rob face-to-face for the first time!

I may have to start coming to some of the meetings now. And I'm also getting away from the cane, hopefully this week and it'll be over with. Great bunch of people down there, but I already knew that.

I think we need a north and south part of our club. Maybe Have a northern part run by Derek and Rick Osborn, and the southern part run by Darrell and Me. And everybody getting together at our monthly club meetings. To catch up on what and how things are going. And to meet each other.

I just took my shower and washed my hair. And that's after working on my yard almost all day long. That's the first time I did not have to use the chair to sit in, in the shower. Tomorrow Gail's going to fix up my matching shoe, so I can go without the brace. I walked all over the house without the brace tonight. I usually wear a bigger shoe on the left foot, because of the brace. But hopefully I will get rid of the brace soon.  8)

Not bad. I rebuilt the duke in my 88 t-top coupe, and hopped it up a little. There will be a thread about it when it's fully complete. But it's running now.
My brother is coming to visit, and he will go with me to Whodeanie's Open House. I hope you can make it, too.

No I'm not going. I'd like to, but somebody ran over me and messed up my clutch leg, and it won't hold up to good on that long of a drive.
But I am going to get him to redo all my Fiero's from the ground up. Just keeping 4. I had 10 before the wreck but they disappeared while I was down.

I got your text message that you had done away with your forum on your website and that you were using Facebook instead.  I don't do Facebook, so I'll just talk with you over the phone or here.

My forum is still posted on our website, and still working great.

Wow, it's 72 degrees outside now, and I wanted to tan my leg outside today. I think it's suppose to rain today. It seems our club is doing great these days. I'm walking without the use of the brace or the cane. But I'll talk to you all later. And the East Tennessee Fiero Club is open.

Yes the club is open, but not doing anything. All I've been doing is rebuilding myself from the accident. And we signed up a new member on our forum today. I'll let you know more later on.  ;)

Pat you can post our new forum on here and the .org site. None of the New East Tennessee Fiero Club members ever get on there, or the website. The only person I talk to is WOW, whoever that is.

I'll have to "build" it first (upload software, set parameters, etc...) I can probably set it up this weekend, unless the work load at work is light, and I can do it there.

The East Tennessee Fiero Club closed today, but I will be watching our forum and this forum. Aug 18, at 9:12 PM. The rest of the club doesn't know it yet but they will, if they ever go to our website. It's time to finish my rebuild, since I'm retired.  8) ;)

We are called the New East Tennessee Fiero Club. Robs the President and Derek is the Vice President. And I started going without the brace today.

Wow, from August 2 until the 25th I've only posted 50 times. I'll be back more.

Well, I've just started going without my brace and useing my cane. The new name to our club is the "New East Tennessee Fiero Club" and I'm still the President, but Rick Osborne is our Vice-President and Derek Osborne is our Events Co-Ordinator. And one more thing we are not reopenning soon. We are open, and have been for a while now. WOW! turned out to be Gary Murray, and he tried to sign up on our forum as David Brophy, he was denied. Wonder what post and reply this will be? On Aug 28 @11:36 pm.

The New East Tennessee Fiero Club is still open and doing great. I think I've got 2 4speed manual trannies sold. 1 for $1500.00 shipped. The other one is wanting to trade with me, but that's not going to happen. I guess the East Tennessee Fiero club is closed since we've changed our name to the New East Tennessee Fiero Club. Rick Osborne is now our Vice-President since he has more time to spend with the club and is registered on our forum. Derek is our events Co-Ordinator so he can set up cruises and car shows.

Since I've lost track of your forum, I'll ask it here.  Is anyone from the Old/New/East/West or any part of Tennessee coming to Run For The Hills?

You're not stuck on 52 posts any more.  It's now 56.

If I come down there, it will just be me and Gail. She still rides with me in my Fiero.

You only mentioned 3 of our club members, and you forgot about Darrell, Janice, Jamie, Will, Pat, and Charlie. Our club is open and operational.

With my small brain, I couldn't remember everyone's names.  I only had room for those few.

Yes, after I posted here last night, I went over to your site and browsed around to see what's happening.  I saw the members list.
