At the moment, it doesn't look like I will be able to make the September meeting or Run For The Hills. At best, all I can hope for is to drive up on Saturday morning to do the Drivers Meeting, then return to Atlanta.
Melanie has been in St. Joseph's since Friday in the ICU unit. Her IV was scheduled to be replaced this coming Wednesday, but the infection took over very quickly and I admitted her to emergency on Friday morning. She was fine right after the surgery, but then went downhill fast. For most of the time she has been incoherent and combative and has pulled the new IV out of her chest. They have reinstalled a temporary one into her neck and have been working with her to get her blood pressure back up, as well as fighting the infection. This morning, she was doing very well and was responsive, bright and alert. She was able to interact and answer any questions the medical staff might have and she was still doing well tonight when I left.
I have spoken with Jerry and he will drive to Chattanooga to pick up the event tshirts and the coffee mugs. It looks like we will have a good turnout, so If anyone would volunteer, I could use some help in printing and assembling the event route sheets and maps. I can email the file. Just let me know.

First of all, Anne and I are sorry to hear that Mel is not doing good, it breaks our heart.
Second, send anything you need printed (specify if color or B&W).
Third, it just won't be the same without you.

Nancy and I will keep Mel and you in our thoughts and prayers...
E-mail to me anything I can do, and let me know if I can stay with Mel while you make your RFTH appearance, or anything else I might be able to do.
Best,
Tim

Thanks, Tim for the offer to stay with Mel. I don't know if she'll be out of the hospital yet, but if she is, it's strongly looking like Ray won't be going. He can stay here with her while I drive up to do the drivers meeting then I'll return home. I won't be making the run whether she's in the hospital or at home.
It looks like we will be needing about 30 sets. There is 1 color map sheet and 3 black and white route sheets to each set. So, if each Don, Jerry, Pat and Tim do a set of 10 we should be well covered. Whoever takes them to the run should be there to pass them out on Friday so people can review them before the drivers meeting. I'll email them to the 4 of you shortly.
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers for Melanie. For the past 2 days she's been doing well. She's stable, but still some stats are borderline. The infection isn't under control, yet. They plan to do another procedure on Friday and will be removing her permanent IV that has been the source of infection each time. She was alert and feeling well and was able to feed herself all 3 meals today.

I'll be glad to do 10 sets and can drop them off at The Don's office if he doesn't mind.
Totally understood about Ray not going, and your needing to make a quick run up and back for just the drivers meeting... that said, if I can spell Ray, do errands or whatever, just say the word.
That is great news about Mel being able to handle 3 meals today! That's a REALLY good sign!
Best,
Tim

Sorry to hear that Charlie. I hope she gets well soon.

As I stated in our email communication Charlie, drop the files on my FTP server and I can take it from there. For the color I have a color laser printer, which should do a good job, and for the rest, I can print them out here at my office.

Charlie, I haven't talked with you in a while.
Of course Mel (and you) are in my prayers. Y'all take care.

Charlie tell Mel that Buddy is also pulling for her. I know she's a tough cookie also. Just ask Pat and Linda.
