Title: 2011 Road Atlanta Track Day
Post by: Fierofool on September 22, 2011, 08:40:20 pm
In response to expressed interest at this year's RFTH, I've checked into a track day at Road Atlanta.  There will be the opportunity to get on the track and see what you and your car have in yourselves.

The Professional Driving Xperience (PDX) allows about 40 minutes on the track with a licensed SCCA driver/instructor giving you turn by turn instructions on your line through the curves and braking.  You can become SCCA certified so that you no longer need an instructor riding with you and you can take your certification to any SCCA event, nationwide.

Last year I was the only Fiero driver there, and I lucked out and got a driver/instructor who had raced Fieros.  There was lots of interest in the car and some people were surprised, including myself, at the way it got through the course with the directions of my instructor.  I thought I'd put it through it's limit at RFTH events, but I found the Fiero has much more, even in complete stock form.

The cost for the event is around $150 which includes entry to the track and you can go watch all 3 days of racing for that entry fee.  You can even reduce your costs if you want to work the track as a corner worker during the time you're not on the track.

Let's see if we can get a whole herd of Fiero Pegasus' up there remind them of what Pontiac still is.  If interested, go to    http://www.atlantascca.org/pdx.html   and check it out.

Anne & I don't have a problem being part of the herd heading up there. Anne spoke with Karin yesterday (HarryT's wife) and they will join us also, but not to go on the track, just to drive up there and spectate.

I will also be up there for the 14th Annual Petit Le Mans at the end of this month, as my company was just awarded the contract to provide internet connectivity, security cameras and networking for the Press/Media and free WiFi for the spectators.

I wimight have some tickets to give away (if any are left, after I hand them out to my staff), which I will post here also (sorry for the highjack Charlie)

Don;
I believe Karin and Anne were talking about a little run that Charlie suggested for the 3rd weekend in October.  At least thats what Karin thought they were talking about.

Harry,
You are probably right. First of all, Anne is usually not that elaborate when telling me things, and second, I usually don't listen too good ;D

My mistake

Either event, we are game, how about you two?

Don, If a man is alone in the forest and there are no women around to hear him...
...is he still wrong?

Nancy said something this morning about my not listening to her, but I didn't catch it all...

Alright, ladies, you can start shooting back at me now...

I DO elaborate, but that doesn't do any good if people just don't listen too good.  ::)

Melanie insisted that I go to an audiologist to get a hearing test.  During the test, she asked me if there were any particular sounds I couldn't hear.  I replied "Yeah, my wife."  Suddenly I had a bad headache and ringing in my ears.  Melanie was standing right behind me.

I'm confused as to who's going to what.  So, let's make this thread for who's going to the Road Atlanta PDX in November.

That's not a bad price. I'm seriously going to think about that.
