OK.... Strange situation. This morning I get in the car and it's a little chilly. Start and drive to the top of the drive. Car shuts off and I smell plastic burning. I start it back up and it runs about a mile and stops again, still smelling plastic. I drove 35 miles to work and all the time, spiratically the car is shutting off, I push it into Nuetral and restart as I roll and it keeps going all along smelling melted plastic. Finally, I get about 5 miles from work and it dies on Hwy 285 (aka Watermelon 500). I pull off to the median between the highway and the offramp. Car will not start.
I jump out and change the ICM with my spare. Still no luck. I turn it over and it tries to start but never quite did. It has the same symptoms that it did before when it cut off at Home Depot. That time I ended up adding a additional ground to the motor and it fixed the issue. Still has the ground and it's still not running. I check for the fuel pump priming and it's not. I take my handy Dandy paper clip and I hot wire the Fuel pump and it starts.
I drive the rest of the way to work still smelling melting plastic. The smell seems to be coming from the console arond the ECM.
SOMETHING under the console has stopped the Fuel Pump from running accurately. I am certain the Relay, fuel pump and the fuse are all good. Heck I know the ICM works too. LOL!
What could this be?

Don't buy the cheaper fuel pump always get the expensive fuel pump. Something in the cheaper fuel pump breaks down. That's the problem I had with mine. After I went with the expensive fuel pump it quit messing up.

The Fuel pump is working perfectly. I'm having trouble turning it on the normal way. Hot wired it works perfectly.

Relay is known and confirmed good?
Just to be sure, when we meet on Thursday, I can bring a new one for you to test.

Yea, they are good. I have switched them out with the others and all work, BUT I plan to replace them with new anyways just because they are so old and I have already replace all the other sensors except the Oil Pressure sensor so I might as well do a clean sweep and replace them as well to give me a clean start electronically. So to speak.
