I've finally decided that I won't be able part out my fiero. I'm looking for somebody to purchase the entire vehicle.
The engine was bored out to a 3.1 liter with the 5 spd isuzu transmission. The interior is OK. The driver's seat was starting to tear.
I had rebuilt the headlight motors, new parking brake, and a new water pump when a concrete pump truck decided to run over the rear corner of it back in August '05. :o
The car was drivable after the accident but the driver's side rear a-frame is bent forward.
The damage to the nose was courtesy of the wrecker yard before I could get the car back from them.
As usual the engine was running when parked.
I would recommend that if anybody is interested to come out and inspect the car before making an offer.

I don't see any pictures.

I saw the pics early this afternoon shortly after he posted and I still see them now.

Hee, hee, hee. Can I have some of that stuff? I'm not seeing anything, either.
-
I see both pictures plus the link to them to open them
\D
-
I see 'em. And the links as mentioned.
Turquoise in color fastback GT. I remember the car.
-
I see them
-
Gotta be my computer. I can see pics in Jason's and Derek's threads.
-
I can't see pictures in this thread either at home or work. Two different computers, two different internet providers, and I have tried different browsers. His picture hosting service doesn't like some people.

Here for you blind surfers ;D

Is this gone or are parts available?
-
The car is still available.
I don't want to part the car out. I want to sell the entire car.
-
If I only had some room for it. Could use quite a bit of parts from that car.
BTW: It says 85 GT, but it's a fastback??
\D
-
Don, the car belonged to one of our former members. He converted the 85 to a fastback, did a 3.1 install and some goodies on the engine.
-
Charlie, is he close to where you live?
-
Yes. Maybe 2 miles.
-
If you can't sell the whole car (which I doubt you can) why don't you sell parts and the "leftover" sell to Junk-my-car?
We did it twice and got around $220 for each car.
Just saying ;)
-
How much for the complete steering wheel including the horn button?
-
Hello, anybody there?
-
Sorry, I can't part the car out at this time. It is sitting in my driveway.
-
Warren, could you tell us a little about the engine and put a price tag on the car? Might help if they knew what the engine has.
-
I didn't do the work on the engine so I don't really know what was done to it. My notes only show that it had some sort of roller cams or rockers, it was bored out to a 3.1 liter and that it has some sort of custom headers on the engine. It was a very nice, very fast revving engine. I got around 26mpg with it on a 60 mile round trip commute.
As for price I have absolutely know idea what is reasonable for the car. That is why I really recommend that anybody interested come and look at the car. I don't want to misrepresent the vehicle.
Right before it was wrecked I had just finished rebuilding the headlights with new rubber bumpers, one headlight has the brass gears. A brand new parking brake, new rear calipers and rotors, a new water pump, starter and alternator were all done within 6 months of the accident. The interior was converted to the full guage package with the better speedometer panel.
The steering wheel is aftermaket btw. I wouldn't recommend it. The seats are still the 85 type with the speakers. The passenger seat is not torn. The driver's seat was starting to tear on the entrance side. The interior is in good shape. The dash is not broken but the previous owner had painted it for some reason.
I had originally planned on keeping the car for parts for my next Fiero project. Other car projects, time and money have made me realize that my next Fiero will probably be about 5 years in the future.

I don't have any money but would be willing to trade for it. I have a gold plated .25 auto pistol (never been loaded - beautiful gun for display) & a like new .357 magnum, some rare Mopar memorabilia including gold plated tools (you can use them on any car ;D ) http://angelonearth.net/Mopar/ , all kinds of other car parts, video games, & I do body/paint, mechanical, custom fabrication, & custom paint.
You can PM me here or email me at ImThaDriver at yahoo.
BTW if anyone wants anything I'm broke everything is for sale. :'(

What I remember of the engine is that it's a 2.8 with a 3.1 crank. It may have also been bored. I think it had some top end work on it too, like cam and lifters. I know it had headers on it. The kid that owned it lived over between Lawrenceville and Duluth and for some reason, after doing all the work on it, he didn't keep it too long. Don Hulse has some knowledge of the car. I think he may have worked on it at some time.

The car is going to the junk car people in the next week or so.
I'd rather that somebody buy the car for parts. :-\
-
How much to save it from the crusher?

What are you wanting :o for it?
Thanks, Joe

Joe, I called him and left a voice mail that someone was interested and for him to call me. Haven't heard anything. I'll go by tomorrow to see if it's still at his house.
-
Ok thank you Charles.
-
I checked about 1pm and it's still there.
-
Ok thank you.
-
Charlie;
I made him an offer a couple of weeks ago and he accepted. I went to look at it when I picked Karin up at the airport and talked to him on the phone. I told him if he could get the engine spinning to prove to me it was not frozen I would come and pick it up. He has not sent me a PM to let me know yet.

You should have let me know you were in town. We could have done lunch at the Kangaroo gas station.
He's always been slow in responding, but he eventually does.
-
Heya, I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet.
My daughter had her ju-jitsu black belt test last weekend so I was a bit distracted. :)
I should be able to look at it this coming weekend on the 4th.
-
I got the engine to turn over today.
And then it started... :o
-
I sent you a PM.
