The Radiater cooling fan has gone out twice in my car in a 8MO. period . Both times it took out the printed circuit  board in my heater contril panel. I don't understand way this is not protected by a FUSE!! As the motors seem to be of poorer quality,  this may be a need to put an inline fuse in the circuit for protection. If someone has dealt with problem , please share  what you have done to prevent future problems!!! Thanks,aerodon.

I left the club meeting Sat. Got on 285 got apx. 10 miles car ran hot turned on air nothing !!! Pulled over and jumped the fan switch DEAD!! I had changed it at the run for the hills as it went DEAD on the DRAGON of all places The factory unit lasted apx. 21 years the next one lasted excatly 4 years, next one 8mos. the fact that they are Lifetime warrented is little consolation when you are sitting on the side of the road!! Car didn't run hot it just blew the hose from the water rail oh what luck. 14.00 dollers of anti- freeze left the seen also!!!Well thanks for AAA got home in one piece!!!  People look and why has he got the trunck open??? Some slow down waiting to see it burst into flames.Got to go now and replace the motor again!!!

For those of you who show their cars at shows , there is a prodcut called CD2 ,it will not rot rubber hoses or your air horn ,goes on easy in spray form, I have been nursing a can for four years, good news Auto Zone has it back on the shelf @6.49 a can!!! This the best engine detailer I have ever used .

I have done battle several times with this issue  All three times it has been the Heat/AC control head . This time apperantly  the fan motor did burn up : but it did not blow the AC fuse instead it fried the circriutry on the printed circuit board!!  Some it is just the fan temp sensor. Some times it can be the fan motor. The fan relay under the L/H headlight does go out: but seems to be the most dependable part of the system!! I have gone to school so to speak on the 86 that Charley now owns My own car most recently: and a 88GT some time back. The first sign that the problem is your control head is when all other options have failed. Then you hot wire the fan motor close the hood and get on the Tech Line. The  50 TORX bolts that are in your Fiero seat backs will interchange with the door 50TORX bolts exactly... I in stalled a set on 88 Formula ,only had to  one  washer to the drivers side for proper spacing  !!!  So save them from any seats you are parting out from now on!!! Cheapo Parts Co. INC.
