The Market / 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT - $1500 (Evans GA.)
« on: January 10, 2019, 05:57:26 pm »

For Sale is one 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. The body on this car is really straight and has no signs of rust. The car is complete with motor and transmission. We do not have the keys so we have no idea of the condition of the motor etc. We bought the car with the property. We do have a clear title for it. $1500.00. A great classic car for restore. Feel free to call me at 706 Four 14-3267.

Anyone know how to hotwire a Fiero?

The Market / 1998 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible - $3450 (Winder)
« on: January 07, 2019, 06:54:06 pm »
Yes, I know a Sunfire is not a Fiero.  However, I owned a 1996 Sunfire convertible 5-speed with the same engine as this one and loved it for 15 years.  0-60 as fast as a manual '88 GT.  Putting the power top down after a lousy day at work was like being baptized in the sun.  Just made everything feel better.

I've chatted with the owner, he's a Pontiac guy -- has even owned Fieros, and if I had room this convertible would be in my garage.

Here goes:
1998 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible - $3450 (Winder)

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/d/bethlehem-1998-pontiac-sunfire/6788639055.html

1998 Pontiac Sunfire Se convertible. Red, black top, grey velour, pw, pl, p mirrors, p trunk, p top, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, traction control, ABS, keyless entry and factory alarm. 2.4 liter twin cam, 4 speed auto. Cd player, radio controls in steering wheel. Leather wheel, shifter and parking brake handle. 60,500 original miles. Exceptional condition. Obviously garaged its entire life. Zero rust. The original paint looks fantastic. The body has some parking lot or garage dings, but exceptionally nice for a 20 year old car. The interior is almost perfect. The top is in great shape and recently had the rear window replaced. Last week I replaced all of the top weatherdtripping. It has had a new alternator recently. It has a fresh oil change and new trans. fluid and filter. This car also comes with the super rare parade boot pieces that are still in their plastic bag. These cars are getting very hard to find in any condition, but a low mileage one is extremely rare. This car runs and drives great and averages about 26 mpg.
I'm asking 3450 but I'm negotiable. Come look at it and feel free to make an offer. Do not text or email. I will not respond. Pick up the phone and call me. I enjoy good conversation.

The pictures are great too.
Can you say,  "Cream Puff"?

General Discussion / Insuring, registering, and keeping 5+ cars running
« on: January 06, 2019, 06:51:41 pm »

I see posts on Pennock's from folks that own multiple Fieros and other cars.  My questions is, How do they economically insure, register, and keep running all these vehicles?

Granted, some might be parts cars, but many of the sigs list 5+ Fieros.  I'm guessing it's not a family affair that keeps them running.  Instead it's just one owner who enjoys the vehicle.

So how do they keep the cars running and legal without going bankrupt?

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Exhaust Sludge
« on: October 25, 2018, 10:26:09 pm »

Two days ago I went for a 160 mile road trip with my '88.
Yesterday, when I restarted the car after having already driven it 15-20 minutes, sludge(?) spit out the exhaust and landed on my driveway.  The good news is the dark oily sludge came out forcefully.  The bad news is it can still be seen on my driveway.

The weather was beautiful so no water should have gotten inside.  Car is garaged overnight.  Oil is fine.

What caused the sludge to be spat out?
Is this a symptom of a problem?

Anyone out there put 19" rear wheels on a stock '88 Fiero GT?
How about 17" up front?
Any comments?

General Fiero Discussion / What leaks oil front center?
« on: October 14, 2018, 04:11:20 pm »

Discovered something that looks suspiciously like oil on my garage floor.

The weird thing is it's up front, slightly on the passenger side of center.

Couldn't think of anything oil-like that might be in that area.  Looked underneath and spotted a wet area.  Maybe from the AC?  But I figured any leak from the AC would evaporate.

What's causing the leak?

Answer below.

General Fiero Discussion / Windshield Washer reservoir

Why is the Fiero's windshield washer reservoir so big?

Is there a story behind it?

Not miine:
<snip>... selling a set of 4 wheels and tires that came off of a 2006 Subaru Impreza. The wheels are in decent shape but do have some cosmetic defects, pry marks around center caps, scrapes, a little curbing, etc. Wheels are 5x100 lug pattern and are 16x6.5 in size. The tire are about ready to be replaced but do still work well, even in the rain. Tread is right at the wear bars. Tire size is 205/55R16. The center caps are included but have lost their paint as they tend to do. Price is $250 OBO.

These should fit most Subarus, some Toyotas, some Volkswagens and possibly others. Please check fitment before contacting.

Text or email is preferred.
