Club News / Whiskey River Run October 2013
« on: August 12, 2013, 01:23:59 pm »
Guys,

Linda mentioned a Whiskey River Run we could do in October.
CowsPatoot and I are very interested in this.

However, since things havent been planned yet, is there any way we could avoid the weekend of Oct 12?
A friend I work with is fighting cancer, and there is a golf tournament being planned for her benefit.  I would like to volunteer to help with it.  I really don't want to have to choose between the two events.

Would the Oct 19th weekend work for this?  I am not sure how much planning has taken place yet for the Booze Crooze, as Greg insists on calling it.

Oh and if anyone plays golf, the event is in Lenoir NC.  I can get you info if you want to come play.

Don't forget to correct the spelling on the name of the location!

We sure will miss the Anne and the Donster on this year's run,
But at least we have his likeness on the event t-shirt to remind us!! :P

Being closer to NC would be slightly more convenient, but a JD tour would be awesome.

I might be on the lookout for a driver slightly less aggressive than Greg to ride shotgun with on the run.  I still want it to be fun, but I am recovering from surgery.  The doc said 6-8 weeks before normal activity (and he knows about  the cars) but Greg's driving really wears me out on these runs.
However, I  do NOT want to ride in the sight-seers group ;D

Hey if anyone talks to Aerodonamic, ask him if he got any of the 25th stickers while at the 30th.
We got a couple extra and I know he wanted one.

I tried to message him here but either I flaked or he hasn't checked messages lately.  Could be either.

Thx

Good news!!

Greg sent me a pic today showing active gauges on the 'vert.
He didn't kill it after all.  Ignition module!  He will be driving it home from Michigan in the next few days.

Many of the pics I have taken are on his computer because they were with his camera, so when he gets home we can send you all the pics you want.   He may even be able to set things up to where you can browse them directly from his machine.

Greg called today, from a roadside in Michigan.
Said something about a spun cam gear and that the 4.9 swap might happen sooner than later.

He isn't stranded; his cousin was on his way with the trailer.

*Sigh*
