It has working Lo beams/Hi beams but they are mounted under the front bumper. Also, all brake lights, side markers, turn signals, and dash indicators work as they should.

If I still have it I may give Run for the Hills a try.

Charlie,

It is compete. I replaced the coolant tank with the larger capacity metal tank in the pictures and I removed the pop up headlights for weight savings and locked down the covers so they don't fly up at speed. The pop up headlights  are in working order and are included in the sale if the buyer wants to re-install them.

I'm in for a stripper party or a clutch change. Holidays are over. No projects around the house or garage and I need something to get through the next couple of months of winter. I may have to buy another project car. Come on Springtime!

Not yet but the break in is going well. Suspension, brakes, and the cooling system from hell are dialed in and I finally ripped out the garbage fuel injection system. Once I get the carburetor dialed in I'll be more comfortable going outside a 5 mile radius from my toolbox.

I remember the bumpsteer very well on my 1985 fiero when it was new from the dealer. With 150 miles and 1 track day on this car, I haven't noticed bumpsteer to be an issue yet but it's not quite stock.

I haven't noticed the bumpsteer issue so far but I haven't pushed the car to it's limits yet.

This winter I plan to move the tie rod attachments points and shorten the tie rods on my 85 as described in Robert Wagner's performance book. But before I do it I'm going to remove the springs from my coilovers and measure the bumpsteer through the maximum range of motion on the suspension travel. Then I can test it again once the mod is completed and have some data for comparison.

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Re: Skidpad test
« on: October 21, 2020, 07:31:42 am »
Yes depending on variables. Two vehicles tested on the same day, skidpad, driver, tires, etc will give an accurate picture of which one is better. Likewise, testing one car and making changes to the set up over repeated skidpad runs will get the car dialed in better.

But taking raw skidpad numbers and saying a car that can pull 1.15 Gs is better than a car that pulls 1.14Gs without knowledge of the test conditions I'd say is not absolutely correct.

That sounds right. Same thing with dyno numbers. Huge variation in numbers depending on environment, dyno make and model, and the operator.

My theory is that both axles have the same mileage, so likely need to be replaced in pairs, for wear issues.

I agree but they are arriving in separate shipments. Driver's side should be here tomorrow.

Larry,

With the experience I got working on your car, I changed the passenger axle and seal on my car today. Only took about an hour.
