Shake comparison
« on: May 27, 2018, 09:42:42 pm »
I have an aftermarket glove box in my Fiero.  To all appearances, this glove box is mounted securely.  If I try to shake the glove box, the glove box feels as if it will break itself or the dash before moving.  Nonetheless, when I drive over a bump or hole, I see the glove box move violently.  This worries me for the sake of the dash and the glove box, but those movements of the glove box must indicate violent movements of the car.  Issue?

I take it you didn't mount the box yourself.
I have one. It is mounted with screws, if I remember correctly (been a long time).
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

I did mount it myself.  It is mounted with 4 1/4" screws, with big washers.  There is a lot of weight in mine.
