need ecm
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:39:22 pm »
Im trying to see if anyone has a ecu or ecm in the north atlanta area. When im driving, my check engine likes to turn on and off sporadically. If its on, I can bang on my ecu and it usually goes off and has double the power. I think its a bad comp. What can you all help me with?

Sounds more like a bad connection on a pin(s) or intermittant ground connection. Doesn't sound like a bad ECM to me.
You can't fix stupid but, you can adjust it with a 2x4.

Could be something coming loose inside the ECM too.  What year, engine, and tranny?

If it's a manual transmission, V6, I have a couple.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Its a 87 4 cylinder manuel. I will double check the grounds again. I keep checking them but nothing.
